Thanks, Mario.

The whole idea was to "Buy American" (sorry, I am funny that way). While I like some Italian and German knives, I prefer to buy on this continent. (Yes, I know about the "global economy" and all). My point is that I enjoy keeping my money on the North American continent, or at least in this hemisphere.

Most of the North American goods are of excellent manufacture. Pirahna is a good example. I want one of their nice OTF knives. I also want a single-action OTF from Paragon. These are fone OTF knives made with S30V Stainless Steel blades. (5.25" of steel suddenly ejecting from the front of a handle can be quite startling/intimidating). The clip-point blade keeps it from being a completely vestigial implement. ::tu::

Look up some of the offerings on Blade HQ, You'll be surprised at how much "bang for the buck" the Paragon OTF knives really are.

I’ve been thinking of investing in a Piranha side-opener or a Paragon single action OTF. Still don’t quite have the budget for a Microtech or Protech. Piranha and Paragon seem like rather reasonably priced US made autos. Took me a while before I could finally get a Benchmade balisong (I ended up getting one secondhand and didn’t pay nearly as much as it costs to get it new). Before that, Bear & Son was my go to as far as US made balisongs. The Kershaw Lucha seems like a good and relatively affordable one. That may be my next investment.

Both Piranha and Paragon produce great knives (and they're not just "wall hangers" or "drawer-queens". Piranha makes some darned good OTF knives that are dependable as well as attractive. Look into their "Rated R" knife. You'll like it.
