I might as well own up to the fact that I have one, I don't collect them, it was given to me several years ago. It has been used but not by me, it's too big for any of the deer I kill and it's too little to "cut line" if I was to go back to land surveying (55 years ago). Will say this Case feels good in the hand. ::nod::

Yeah, they are pretty nifty. To be honest, I've seen them with wood and micarta (maybe G10) scales, and they just don't seem as right to me. But, with stag scales... Yup, it just seems right on them 👍🙂👍

I agree with you on the handle scales. I recently viewed on with micarta and it just didn't look right.

It was supposedly AG Russell that recommended to them that they do the blade justice by offering them in stag... There is no doubt that the man had an eye for appealing looking knives.
👍🙂👍

Here is a German made knife that AG Russell used to sell through his business. He wasn't the first to offer this model, (Crocodile Hunter Bowie), but he obviously thought it would be a neat specimen to include in his catalog of knives. I absolutely find this knife in my collection to be one of my favorites 👍

Thanks, fella's. I sure do like "old school" type knives the most. And, most Bowie knives, (whether they are antique, vintage, or more recently made), tend to have those "old school" traits 👍🙂👍

This is a Marbles Damascus Bowie. Made in China. The weight is well forward of the guard making for a good chopper. The Damascus pattern looks like it was put on the steel with some sort of process. It just does not look to me as tho the design is intrinsic to the blade. The blade came very sharp.

Thanks Quick Steel. Same with me. Probably small / individual maker. Knife is very nice tbh.

Also, that’s a trippy “effect” on the blade if it isn’t from the forging process. Like the shape of that handle as well. How’s the grip of it? Seems like it would be better than a squared straight grip.

I often prefer a curved grip or at least a bird's head especially for serious chopping.
