This is the first one I can remember positively buying myself, it was at a gas station/ truck stop on the way from Texas to Arizona for a trip to the canyon. Kissing Crane KC-48 stiletto. Not my style even then but I had always wanted a switch blade and this was the closet thing I could legally have.

CWADE, I hope you acquired some switchblades since then. Kershaw has a line they named Launch. Excellent knives for a decent price. CPM steel automatics. I like the Launch 8. Bought it a few years ago.
It’s probably available locally. They also make Launch in different models.

I can back-up totally what Oscar says about the Launch 8, C-W! I've only had mine a short time but it's proving to be a very solid well-built auto!

Thanks Oscar and Marco, I’ve gotten several over the years now, and recently traded my GEC for a Schatt and Morgan auto clasp knife!

I’ve got a Schatt and Morgan Express clasp knife. Pretty close copy of the Kabar Grizzly. The Grizzly in good condition sells for about $2000 if you can find one. Even if I could I ain’t paying that much for a knife rare or not.

I like it, really too big to carry but a neat piece to own. I know what you mean on the Grizzly or original Case Zipper, that’s more than I can imagine paying.

The first knife I used as an EDC was a 5 dot Case XX USA Hawkbill. I got it for my birthday in '75. It's very worn, but still in my Case collection.

The first one I bought that I remember well is a Parker/Frost one arm jack. I lost it and spent hours looking for it but to no avail. Glad you still got yours!

My first knife from my Dad for scouts was a Kamp King but when my uncle Buddy returned from his first tour in nam he got me an official Camillus Cub Scout knife
