And beyond being crippled and hobbling around, there are so many diseases and conditions that can now be healed/helped/cured that we no longer hear the saying, "They died of the miseries."
Amazing the progress the Lord has blessed mankind to make in the workings of these bodies he created! The use of glue rather than stitches or staples is amazing to me, I've now had all three over the years.

Phillip, how are you doing? A week ago I had a couple of bad days caused by my thinking I could stop the pain meds. Too early for that then. I get my bandage off Friday, 2 more days of what is an irritating thing at this point. But generally it is coming along. I walk around inside the house without the walker and the pain level has decreased a lot. PT and the ROMtech is working the heck out of it and it is coming along slowly. Will post a photo sans bandage Friday.

I only took the pain meds before bedtime and have quit except for Tylenol.
Still doing the prescribed exercises but tomorrow I'm supposed to start at a therapy center. Probably help me to get my knee functioning quicker than doing it on my own. Driving the car and woods cart, haven't tried the zero turn yet. Can't get on the tractor, it is in the shop.
Need to be able to climb the ladder to the shooting house by Thanksgiving.
Maybe these new knees will keep us old fellers going for a bit longer!

This joint replacement stuff seems to be getting easier, that is today's is supposed to be outpatient surgery if there are no complications. The other 3 joint replacment surgeries all merited a 3 or 4 day hospital stay.
I would appreciate your prayers for both Miss Joy and myself to get through this process.

Got my bandage off today. Doesn't look too bad, feels OK to walk on. Pain comes in at bedtime when I lay down.

That looks pretty good! Glad it seems to be healing up well. It does take a while, but it is worth when you can walk across the room and not sound like a bowl of Rice Crispies and not feel the grinding.

Thought I would update my knee replacement surgery while sitting here waiting to watch FSU (with their 0-3 so far season) play California 3-0. Already 3 and out for FSU.
Knee is doing well according to therapist. Still a bit tender but we're able to ride the zero turn and the farm tractor for several hours at a time. Therapy consists of walking 1/4 mile on grass without my cane, riding some exercise machines, walking sideways, stepping over small cones, climbing steps leading with new knee and of course stretches. Glad some of y'all encouraged me to go to therapy!
The most difficult part has been not messing with the incision, picking at the glue and scabs. So far they are coming off little by little. The therapy gal says when all that is clear, knee cap and incision massage will begin.
FSU just scored a touchdown. Will wonders never cease!
October 4 they will evaluate my progress to determine if more therapy is needed. October 7 check up with surgeon.
Here's what it looks like 35 days out: Many thanks to all who prayed for us during this ordeal and above all I am grateful to the Lord for His hand upon me.

Had an active day, loaded a little deer blind built on a small utility trailer on to a big equipment trailer for a friend, plowed a fire break around our big food plot and then disked up the small plot that's in some real thick woods next to a small pond. No issues with the new knee after today's work. Going to ice it this evening, another therapy session tomorrow.

So how is the knee doing after these weeks since you had yours done and I had mine done 2 weeks later? Mine feels good, had my last PT session last week. Joint is really smooth, I can stand and walk with absolutely no pain. Still have some weakness in the muscles, am doing home PT. The big knot of muscle and scar tissue above the kneecap was difficult to get rid of, but is coming along. I have to say though that I still don't think of the knee as mine yet. I know that's weird, it's like I was abducted by aliens and they did this to me. lol

My 82 year old M-i-L is having knee replacement surgery in January. She's fallen on her knee a few times, didn't tell anyone, tried to play it off like it's arthritis and it didn't heal properly. So if she wants to be able to walk, it's the only option at this stage.

OC, it took about a year of working until I stopped thinking about it. Glad yours is doing good
