They posted a video today of the insides on the dist. center in Indianapolis. Look at all of the mail Looks like they would take semi loads to other centers to be sorted. They also note the irony of legislatures sending a letter - most likely it will never get there. Funny!

I have a package shipping from the East Coast to the Midwest. I was on the edge of my seat hoping that it didn’t go through Indianapolis.

Thank goodness, it didn’t and it’s at its destination post office now.

This one that I shipped recently wasn’t delayed but it did arrive damaged - I’ve filed a claim electronically - I’ll report back once an outcome is known.

No tire tracks on the box but the knife is clearly bent ::facepalm::

Bob Neal gets big money for his curved knives, maybe I’m thinking about this all wrong ::paranoid::

Wow! First time I’ve ever seen a knife bent like that! For any reason.

Sorry to see this. Your claim should be a no brainer for them to honor.

one would think so Rick but I’m skeptical. Thankfully I have a duplicate knife in the box to replace the damaged one so the buyer will be made whole ::tu::

Even the lost ones sometimes show up.

About 10 years ago i had an M1860 US cavalry saber go astray on its trip from Pennsylvania to Texas. I watched the tracking take it to Los Angeles and then to Hawaii where it disappeared. The seller reimbursed me and he filed a claim with the USPS. I always assumed the insurance covered him.

6 or 7 months later it showed up with stamps from the post office in Fiji with the box dirty, moldy and all bent to hell, but the packing was excellent and the saber was still in good shape.

I took it to the postmaster and said "Hey, here's that saber that went missing last year. What do we do now?"

In his best SGT. Schultz impression, he put his hands over his eyes and said "I see no zing. No zing at all. Go avay."

Another update today. They have admitted the delays were not weather related and apologized for the inconvenience they have caused. No word as to when they expect the backlog to be cleared. I did get the tax document I was waiting on yesterday. I think I have 4 packages in the backlog. Working around the clock means very little. Did you see where the postmaster general resigned? Big mess in other places.

I hope I am wrong but I think it will get worse before it gets better, unfortunately.

An 11-member Board of Governors oversees the USPS's operations. President Trump appoints the Governors with the advice and consent of the Senate. The Governors and the Postmaster General appoint the Deputy Postmaster General. I’ll bet DOGE has a bead on USPS ::pray:: ::nod::

No update to the claim that I filed on 2/15/25, days “under review”

My claim was processed in 5-days and a check should be here in 7-10 days. They wouldn’t reimburse me for the $8.95 shipping fee because a delivery was made. If the box was lost I would have gotten reimbursed fot shipping. ::facepalm::

Buyer gets to keep the damaged knife and do whatever they wish with it and gets a 100% refund. ::tu::

Me too, especially if they try and privatize.

I’ve filed two claims two months ago for packages that never arrived and were marked “in transit “
Never received a response and then received a email on how my case was handled

I currently have two packages stuck in Jacksonville Florida with no movement in 4 days

usps has become a joke unfortunately
Hopefully something can be done to fix it
