Those shell handle "boys knives" with the IKCo. stamp
showed up sometime in the '50s, knifetime. I have
seen them in red and black and I think Dimitri has one
that is brown. They were all painted rather than having a
celluloid wrap. Most, if not all, came with a chain.
The same stamp is used on the letter openers. It is often
mistaken to be "LKCo."
Goins first lists the IKCo stamp inside a rectangle (parallogram)
to be from c. 1925-1940.
He lists the IKCo. stamp inside a diamond to be c. 1928-1930.
These three stamps need to be added to the Imperial/Hammer Brand
date charts.
Below is one I found sometime last fall. It must have got shuffled
around and stashed inside my Imperial folder! It has the c. 1936-1937 stamp!
It's an Imperial that still has the HAMMER BRAND BLADE ETCH!!!
The handles have been shinned up a little.
