I picked up this large early FEB. FEB. bone double with full bolsters to temporarily fill a spot in the group until a minty one come along... This picture shows a good representation of sizes , style and handles used on their double ended safety knives. What I find interesting is on this large early knife the pins are set with a crude punch and not finish polished like the later ones , granted it is over 100 years old . Enjoy

I picked this Catt.Cut Co. up to hang with the other . Interesting that my swinguard model has brass liners and the other has steel . Are they all like these ?

The letter openers are Presto made by G.Schrade as marked on the tang . " Pressbutton knife co". pre dates these buy at least a decade . Flylock made some . neither Pressbutton or Schrade cut co ( as I recall ) offered a letter opener but hey !!!! ya never know what might pop up with anything G. Shrade had to do with . BTW cool letter opener , I collect Presto .

Apologies if this the wrong place for this post.
I was watching this Remington R2403 on eBay last week and it abruptly disappeared before the scheduled end time of the auction. It did not move to "Ended" - it simply disappeared. This makes me think that eBay took it down rather than the seller. I didn't intend to bid on it because the bidding exceeded my price range.
Does anyone have experience or thoughts on why the knife would disappear? I am wondering if it might be a policy related to selling this type of knife (Switch) or if it might be related to authenticity? It looks pretty good to me.
Thanks for any insight you can provide.
Jerry

While in the process of putting together my Presto group shown one thing led to another and this group of fairly scarce Knives came to be

not only are they different models but all have different liners and backspacer materials . The swinguard has brass liners with a stainless back , the Cattaragus has steel on steel and the newly added fishscaler model has nickel on nickel. kinda neat , enjoy.

Started back on Page 1 and read a bunch of johnnierotten's posts. I think this was the last one he personally made on AAPK;
johnnierotten wrote:Thanks for thinking about me John.

....the last few days I have been feeling poorly.
Ray....I might be interested in some of the bone scaled ones....and that Brownie ..if She's in good shape.

Man I miss seeing johnnie's posts, he was a great guy.
Took a picture of my switches to date, thinking by the fit and finish that springer might have been made by Paki Stan, no markings at all. Functional, strong snap but far from a beauty. The ball-pull and pens are Schrade, followed by a Shur-snap (Colonial), Hammer Brand, Imperial, no mark springer and a larger Schrade pen with home made covers(?).

The handle covers on those Schrade double buttons really tend to get
brittle. I've got a couple that need to be re-handled, myself...
Great collection!
(Man, I think we all miss johnnie - he sure was a good un)

Thanks wiseguy! Here's a short video of a Geo. Schrade PRESTO that I just brought back to life by replacing a broken spring. Not rocket science but it was challenging at times getting everything to fit so it fires properly. Making it my new "around the farm" EDC. A previous owner re-profiled the blade, could have been riding a little high. Pretty pleased with the end result, plus I don't think I'll have to worry about this spring breaking or wearing out anytime soon.

Huh, I've tried (edit:) 50 or so different combinations. Guess I haven't found the right one yet.
Well, I tried Photobucket and YouTube, no luck.

I think it was easier fixing the spring. Hoping someone can work their magic, pretty sure I've posted YouTube vids before.

I tried your link to youtube, it is a private video and will not show for me. Try making the video public then just post the live link here without the Youtube brackets from the box above.
