This afternoon I added this to my "general" CAMILLUS cutlery collection. It's a CAMILLUS 23, 2 blade pocket knife. It came with the original box and paperwork. It is in NEAR MINT condition and required no cleaning at all. I took some pictures and here it is.

That's a fine knife and a real handful, too! I've got one but not in that great condition.

That is
such a good-looking pattern, and in excellent shape, too. I eagerly await the day that I find one at a price I'm willing to pay!

That.....
Thank you Dan.

It was less than $50, including the working man's
punishment fee and shipping. I got it on eBay.

Currently there's a short-line 23 on eBay that appears to be in very good condition. It's paired with a #1 that's very worn and the bid is $20 with 4 days to go. ---►

The working man's punishment fee..
I've never heard it put that way, and it's entirely accurate...especially considering your location.

That is a price I'd be willing to pay. If bidding doesn't get too crazy, I will be very tempted on that one.

Nice 902. That’s the pro master series,or something like that . Late eighties ,early 90 s . There out there , if you do a search you’ll find a few and some good info. The handle material and size makes it a great user knife .

It’s cool hearing how you steered towards collecting Camillus and didn’t really try . It seems that way with me as well, it just evolved that way, good luck with your collection and the hunt !!

I just buy what I like. Does that make me a collector or an accumulator?

Unless you take into account the speed at which things are added, I don't think there's a major difference between the two. From dictionary.com:
verb (used with object), ac·cu·mu·lat·ed, ac·cu·mu·lat·ing.
to gather or collect, often in gradual degrees; heap up:
to accumulate wealth.
Therefore, I consider myself a collector and an accumulator. I haven't become obsessive or compulsive yet, so I guess I'm okay.

Thanks! I was out yesterday and I missed a really good knife by a few minutes at the flea-market. I got to see the guy take it away with a pile of other stuff he bought at the space and I just missed it by

strolling along and not moving faster. I tried to buy it off the guy after he bought it and he would not sell it. It was a dagger made in Austria... and I love and collect daggers. He paid $1.00 for it...

When you see purpose in the purposeless and worth in the worthless, and won't get rid of
anything. You and I are a
long, long way from that point.

...I have no idea how to find it, it's either on this thread or the Camillus 72 thread, but someone (jerryd or orvet) posted pictures for me of a Camillus swell-center pen(3 5/8" closed),long oval shield, I called it a half whittler, but the primary blade was stamped "14")-I have never seen another one like it- I'm beginning to suspect it was a "lunch-box special"!!!..........

.................
I found this 4 line Camillus half whittler listed on ebay the other day and thought it might be a franken knife but bought it anyway. Then I found this old post where Tommy (carrmillus) made reference to one and also a catalogue page of one listed. It is the size of a 72 but thinner. It has a single back spring and has half stops on the secondary blade but not the primary. Also an ingenious little brass spacer on the secondary end. No stamping on the blades except for the four line stamp. I must say that I am totally stoked to have gotten it.
