Found this Japanese made Sears Craftsman #95155 Mini-trapper (3-1/2") today; cannot tell if the handles are bone that has been grooved and dyed to look like stag, or some type of stag- they are pretty smooth. The blades look to be stainless steel and don't appear to have been used. I would guess made/sold in the 1980's or 1990's. The action is good and the knife seems to be quite solid, so I assume it was well built.

I'm liking the "tool knives" even better - the pewter one is as nice as the brass version.

Thanks Johnnie - when I look closely at the smooth part of the handles it looks very much like Appaloosa bone on a Case half whittler I own (sort of a mottled, grainy coloration) - I'm gonna call it bone.

Ps Was Parker considered a good cutlery maker?

OH, nice knife! ::tu:: Do a search using Parker Craftsman and you'll find a few discussions on these knives.

Thanks brother, I have played with the knife for a few hours and noticed some blade wobble in both blades and major blade rubs on both blades and a real weak small blade close. I am real bummed!

Love that Marttini, Tim! I have one of the orignal Pukko style filet knives that I bought back in the early 70's. It's cleaned alot of fish and still goin' strong. It holds an edge better then any other fillet knife I have. ::tu::

Nice knives, Tim. I am intrigued by that gaucho knife. I wish I knew more about them. Yours appears to have sheath of some alloy of silver, with some real gold. I like it. And that Buck 103 is a real workhorse.

Thanks Tongueriver ::tu::

There is a lot of info on the internet about the gaucho knives,

but I never thought i would see one in a resale store. The sheath is darker
than most i have seen ::shrug::

Yesterdays finds. The first two old military knives came out of an auction and had tags saying grand fathers knife and fathers knife. I'm figuring the owner died and the fourth generation sold them off.

A general/ specific tool for sure. The dagger looking blade, who knows, I don't. The other looks like a wood chisel. That is a guess. Someone used that one a lot or it sat in the tool box just waiting to be used as a pry bar with the main and secondary blade. I know this because that is what stuff that lays in my tool box tray where I throw my greasy tools, looks like.
