Thanks Edge 46,when it showed up on the German Ebay I just could't believe it.Such an old knife unused.Lucky for me there isn't much interest and knowledge on American cutlery in these parts,so if one pops up there is a fair chance for a nice snag.Gus

Nice!!
It is a circa WWI can opener style. They changed to the modern shaped ones on the military knives at the beginning of WWII.

Well, my 'sell-down' to raise some #45 Roughneck $$$ is ending later today. Big thanks to a bunch of you guys
for buying knives from me and also thanks if you bid on my eBay listings. It was kinda bittersweet to let go of so many
of my knives (20+) but I was able to accomplish a couple things. First off I had a brother needeing a little help and I was
able to do that and secondly I was able to get the number of GEC #45's that I was after. The sales went pretty
well overall without too many surprises so I decided to treat myself to a new GEC EDC with the few $$ I had left.
GEC #79 Workhorse Whittler in Calico Bone (be a great Club knife with 3 large blades in 3 popular styles)

Yeah, I'm loving those scales.
Reminds me of the appaloosa bone from Case back in the late 70's.
Great knife.
