What is Your Latest Old Schrade?

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

Hey John, I've got one from the same pattern in what might be Rosewood.

Here are three Schrade Cuts I found today at the Las Vegas Arms Show. The two jigged bone folders (Whittler and Boys knife) are from the Mark Nagel collection.
That bare head is especially knice! Love them all.

Thanks IM & DL for your nice comments—much appreciated!!

Joe, a very beautiful and highly sought after arched tang stamped Schrade Cut!! Very hard to find! I look for them all the time. I asked Art Green (well known collector and seller in eastern US vintage knife circles) at the shown today if he had any arched tang stamp Schrades? He said he had not seen any for three or four years😩

Joe, missed that knife, a real beauty.

Took a gamble on an auction with poor pictures, was not sure if it was an unused knife or a heavily cleaned knife. What showed up was an unused 3 3/8 Schrade Cut Co ebpny sheepsfoot jack. Factory edge and blade finishes, all steel construction with brass pins showing tarnish. It will go nicely with my bone handled Scharde Cuts.

Nice knives, the envelopes are pretty cool. Jan 16, 1934. Did the envelopes come with the knives originally?

Just began collecting some Schrade, mostly earlier Schrade Walden era and just after that period.

Anyway, my question is when did the Chinese era Scrades begin and end (if they did end). Or did Schrade end in 2004 all together?

These are a few I bought years ago when the local Walmart went out of the knife business.😱 I have boxes for them all except the 1040T was in a 1080T box, go figure, a Walmart employee making a mistake???
I have an ST2, WMSP1, 50TG, 1040T, 1080T, two 1520T, and two 1580T. I have others put away in storage, just need to locate them, eventually, hopefully!
The WMSP1, I can't find it listed in the catalog, there's a SP1, and that's the number on the blade itself. SP1. There isn't enough room for WMSP1, so, are there two different knives, or is this one just listed in the catalog as SP1?
Hope everyone enjoys the picture.

I have two more Schrades on the way, an 861 (finally) and its twin a 6OT. They will be joining my current collection shown below. Which includes: SW 899; SW 804; SW 897UH; SW 8OT; SW 825RB; Schrade Grand’s Old Timer Limited Edition; Schrade 735 from 1973.

Schrades have been the last major effort I’ve undertaken in building my collection. If there is a place here to post my entire collection, I’d be happy to share.

Great bunch so far, excellent old knives. As far as a place to post your collection, here's the place, we like seeing big group shots, a bunch of topics, or threads here are perfect for your stuff. Keep 'em coming.

Verrrrrrrrry nice! Do you know the model number?

Nope, no numbers anywhere. Just two Cut Co stamps.

An old SS Cattle knife from the Cut Co era found at the OKCA show. Only the sheep has a half stop.
