Ya know, I figured that even before you told me, Kevin, and I'm the same except trade the tennis shoes for half boots. I hope you didn't feel I was poking fun at you with the "Real estate agents" comment, as far as I'm concerned a person is free to be whomever they choose, I was simply making an observation. Heck, I use to drive a truck for our mail service, now that's a job to poke fun at!

Your a great guy Marco!! I enjoy looking at your cool knives! I'm not easily offended. I enjoy being able to josh around too and communicate with my buddy"s on this site. I consider you one of those buddies!! Have a great day my friend!!

I'm glad you get my attempts at humor, cuz too many times feelings get stepped-on unintentionally due to the gap between spoken word and typed word, and I really try to avoid those situations. I don't much care if someone dislikes me, just as long as their dislike comes from a legitimate source and not a typed source of misunderstood comments. Thanks for the compliments on my knives, and myself for that matter, those too are mutual. The bottom-line here is, you and Anita make a lovely couple whether you're seen, typed, or spoken!

I didn’t specify that my Airman was my daughter, on my post. I was not paying attention like I should have. I bought a squadron sweatshirt and had it customized.

I specifically put daughter on the shirt because most people assume military/men. I looked it up Air Force is 69/31% men to women. It is hard to tell the difference in their fatigues. I keep getting corrected they are called OCP’s Dad.
She’s very happy to be home for Christmas and can’t wait to get through technical training and on to her job.

God has blessed us all greatly and we give him thanks every day.

Whoops! My sincere apologies to you, Steve, and, your lovely young lady.

I'm afraid I fell victim to being one of the 69%. I saw short hair, a big toothy smile, and for some reason her glasses contributed to the false impression, but now that I'm aware of her gender its not difficult at all to view her as she is, in fact, better! Please extend my apology to your daughter as well, as I'm sure she is following along with you on this topic. And while you're at it kindly inform her to not be in any rush to be overly gung-ho with her eagerness, they might see it and ship her off to war sooner than they would someone who appears calm! lol! Mind you, not too calm cuz driving one of those supersonic jets might be a hoot! Shows what a Canadian knows about the military, huh?

Absolutely no apologies necessary. I added a picture of myself with the squadron shirt that I got for myself. I worded it that way for exactly that reason not nearly as many women as men.
Thank you to all for the kind words about my daughter. Off to Alabama for technical training. She wants to become at least a paralegal and says she wants to become a lawyer. The good thing about that is she should be out of harms way.

Your 2 pictures are as different as day and night, without her fatigues, whoops, make that her OCP's, she's gorgeous and IMHO she looks like you! Just out of curiosity,

what's her name I'd feel funny calling her "Airman", how old is she, what does she like to do, is she available? Of course I'm teasing, buddy, her youth and exuberance would absolutely destroy this beat-up 71 yr. old gentleman in short order! Kindly wish her luck from me on her choice of safe carrier's, the way things are going in this psycho world we're going to need more lawyers. Congratulations on having such a beautiful family, Steve, I know you will treasure them always!

My daughters name is Lindsay,
She is a very motivated just about 19 year old. She graduated high school a half year early. Did a little time working two different places then landed a job at the local State Farm agency. Proceeded to get a year of college under her belt in 8 months, is a certified insurance agent.
Both of our kids are adopted. We took her to California and she spent a little time on a marine base in the end of June. Three weeks later my better half the young lady are sitting at the kitchen table and she says hey can I talk to you. Here she is an Airman.
We are older parents we have been so greatly blessed my better half did not have to work and was able to stay home with the kids. She actually collected her first SS check yesterday and was pleased. So because I am older I call keep getting told they “are not fatigues Dad” they are OCPs. I’m like they aren’t barreks drill Sargents. I have worked for corporate America all my life. They have to word smith everything. Well a long story longer may you have a blessed day.

My younger daughter Emily looked as exuberant upon entering the Army National Guard. We were not a military family, but are proud of her decision to serve. She has been out for many years now, but the experience made her stronger.
