Found this one Saturday. Taylor's (eye) witness. Back of tang is marked Sheffield England. This is my first of this brand. Great snap and fits well in my pocket.

I agree with Perry, thats a great knife. I buy just about every hawkbill or pruner I see at the flea market. That eye is a nice one.

Decent day at the flea market.
Found this 1978 Case XX 6249 Copperhead
Great price for a nice knife. Strong, tight beauty.
First two pics what it looked like when I got it. Second two after a few minutes of cleaning, nothing major.

I gotta say Gino, just about any Case knife from the 70s is a must buy.
They were makin some fine cutlery then. I don't care what handles are on it as long as they're original, buy it! Yes even Delrin, I think it was a little bit better quality then.
That looks like some of that 1095 carbon on there too but I could be wrong. ::shrug::
Great lookin knife Gino! ::nod::

Thanks Perry, I agree and I try to buy them every time if I can. There is just something about the older knives.

Mark, I just wrote in a thread the other day how I live in Pa and dont come across a lot of Pa knives (Case,Queen,etc...) at flea markets or garage sales. Maybe I changed my luck? LOL!

Picked up a couple cool finds last week at a swap meet...Colonial ad knife that has part of the Planters Peanuts logo still on it..very tight and snaps real nice....

The other is a Laguiole en aubrac folder w/corkscrew...very nice and tight with cool file work on the spring..I took it with us to the steak house the other nite and my kids think I've lost my mind because I brought my own steak knife... ::dang::

Sorry about the crappy pic quality... ::dang::

hey y'all just got back from the flea market and i dd pretty good. first i got 73 case xx whittler 6308 bone handle and it is missing one small blade and the scale on the sheild side needs repair, good snap and nice remaining blades, second a 72 case xx bone handled large 6347hp stockman very nice shape main blade used but all the blades have great snap, it is missing the sheild. third is a 6207 i believe(hard to make out) case xx 40-64 red bone with a wharnie main blade and worn pen blade,it has great snap, it had a scale issue on the reverse side but i took care of that(my new edc), fourth is a usmc issue camillus or ulster(says made in usa) this knife is near mint no chips cracks anywhere on the scales, still has original bail, screwdriver not tourqued, punch is not chipped, the can opener is perfect and all the blades have great snap. it looks as it has not been carried much. here are some pics.
