Olde Cutler, could that knife be WWII vintage? I understand that brass & nickel were not available.
I don't know, just wondering.
That is a possibility that I had not considered.

Here is my latest Utica, it was gift from my buddy Barry, thanks. I have 3 Pocket Pards that have 14K filled hardware which is what I believed to be the only type Utica made. Well that was until Barry sent me this one. It is a 2 bladed knife and the hardware is Sterling not 14K filled. The bail is marked Sterling. I have searched for Utica's for years and of all the Pocket Pards I have seen all 4 items, a cutting blade, a nail file, a corkscrew and a screwdriver bottle openers combo. This one only has the cutting blade and the nail file. This is a rare one for sure. I have a couple of old Utica catalog's that show Pocket Pards but none show a 2 bladed Sterling model.
Thanks again Barry, Mike

After reading your post Mike I remember having a Pocket Pard that I thought all the gold was worn off the bolsters,I got out the two Pocket Pard I own,The mottled celluloid is similar to yours,A single backspring (mine is broken) but 3 blades, blade ,corkscrew and can opener. Also stamped "sterling" on the shackle, mine is also missing the bolster cover,it is not a solid bolster as you may be able to see the celluloid handle goes to the end and you can see where the bolster fit over it,not sure how it was attatched. The green pocket Pard has two springs, the file blade is snapped off.My box is also different than the others I've seen,it has a spring loaded hinge, it pops open when you push the small button in the front. It is marked 14 carat gold on shackle.I had an orange one at one time and it was a single backspring,I don't remember the blade configuration. Thanks for showing yours.Sorry about the poor pics.

Very nice! Thanks for showing those. I've seen a box like yours years ago but it was not for sale. These knives are really hard to find in any condition.

I bought this little Utica years back. It was about the same size as the old Camillus made stockman I found when I was 14 years old. Unfortunately, I damaged that Craftsman after carrying it for nearly 20 years trying to do something everyone knows you ought not do with a knife. Fast forward around 6 years ago, I wanted a knife similar to what I carried for years. I wanted a carbon steel stockman made in the USA. Bought this Utica for around $42. Of course, being a cheapskate, thought that was too much. However, I feel I got my money’s worth out of her. This old knife got me back into a great hobby. Of course I picked up more Utica knives, but I always have a soft spot for this small gem I got years back. Hope everyone had a good Tuesday.
