Tanx Jerry, the previous closeups were done w/the Koduck before
the factory smoke escaped. If I try closeups now they're out of focus.
As you mention, that loss hasn't motivated me to replace it yet. Probably
just unwilling to flip thru another owner's manual until it conks out or
the clicker button goes ka-sproing! (knock on haid)
Figured bad sign when batteries too hot to grab, had to just dump
them on the ground. Let camera cool overnight, then fresh batteries,
and it came back on. That was about 2 yrs ago maybe?

There's a scary proposition.

I've known cell phones to do that and even catch on fire
while charging (I provided telephone support for cell phones for a year and a half. Worst job I ever had.) but for a device to do that in the normal course of operation? Spooky. I thought maybe your macro setting had accidentally gotten turned off. That would have been the simple solution.

Very nice photos Earl, the light hits the blade at the perfect angle to make it the focus of the entire picture. Well done.
