Ditto! My grandfather showed it to me when it was doing excursions back in the 80s down in Danville Va, though it was the coolest thing I’ve ever saw. Fast forward to the 2000s and I’ve chased her many times before chasing became a nut house. Wife and I rode her last year during one of the excursions and it was cool and all, but nothing like a chase.

John, I think you most likely read the same snippet that I read from Yahoo about the Big Boy tour. I had to reread it a couple of times to get what they were saying. It said something to the effect that it was the first time it will cross the Mississippi and enter the Ohio Valley since it was built. The key being "enter the Ohio Valley", I knew it had crossed the river before because I saw it on the Illinois side back in 2021. Whoever wrote that could have picked a little better sentence construction. I think it also crossed down South in Louisiana on a tour a while back.

The Sox are at least watchable this year, you gotta admit though, that they have deserved to be the butt of jokes the last few years.

I was gifted a Union Pacific lantern Wednesday night at the Springfield American Legion by some friends. The spotlight isn't working, it could be the switch, but I’m going to try fixing it if I can without breaking it.
The Big Boy picture belonged to my wife's father. My mother-in-law gave it to me a few years ago so I added it to the train area (not sure I can call it a room).
IF I actually can take a picture of 4014X when I'm in Altoona, I'm going to enlarge it and frame it like that one.

Pre war not sure of the series # the big cars. Are they actual Pre-war or reproduction? They look nice and shiny.

Thanks Steve. There's a mix of pre-war Lionel and post-war Marx in that shot. The cattle car is an 813. The 810 series Lionel cars were some of the largest O gauge rolling stock.
