Yesterday afternoon, I relieved the post office of this pocket knife. It is a CAMILLUS 100, one blade, two tang stamps, 3 7/8" closed (not including the bail), "Say it with Flowers", pocket knife. It only says "Say it with Flowers" on the main handle side. The other handle side is blank. The blade front tang stamp says "CAMILLUS (long line) - NEW YORK - USA" and the blade back tang stamp says "100" This is only my second "Say It With Flowers" pocket knife. But, this is my first CAMILLUS "Say It With Flowers", pocket knife. Overall, it is in EXCELLENT condition. Not bad for $9.99, NOT including the working man's punishment fee and shipping. I gave the blade a minor cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

Congratulations on that one Skip. That is an excellent looking 100. The print on the handles is really crisp, and the handle material looks great!!

What a cool knife Skip. I really like the French Ivory handles. The β Say it with flowers β lettering really floats my boat.

And only ten bucks!

I picked up a couple of rusty Camillus knives a 72 and a 67. Blades were hard to open and as expected no snap. So I gave them a good soaking with WD40 and placed them in the ultrasonic cleaner for three cycles. Sprayed them again to displace the water. Lightly cleaned the blades and reoiled them with a Teflon based lubricant. Worked the lube into the joints and wiped the excess oil off. They both have good snap now. Later Iβll put a good edge on them and add them to my EDC rotation. Got them as a pair. 18 bucks each.

I just picked this one up. I am not very familiar with Syracuse Knife Company but, it looks like Syracuse knives (1935-1940) were made by Camillus here in the USA. I am always happy to find a "new" Camillus to add to the pile, so I'll call it a good find

Picked up a Camillus #20. This tang stamp was used by Camillus from 1960 to the late 1970s. Good "walk and talk" I put a vinegar patina on it. I think it will make a nice little EDC

A chute knife in need of repair. Both blades are mint, never used or honed. The tang stamp has the short line which I believe dates it to 1946-50.

I found a chute knife just like this one in a knife shop with the tang stamp that has the short line, so the question came as to when that knife was made, if in fact it was made 1946-50. Maybe you could post these photos on the "Short-Line Thread"?

GDog , do remember that conversation and thought the end result was that these knives are made in the late 50s . IIRC it was 1959 . The short line stamp HAS been used on a few different models and series other than just thru the years 1946 to 1950 . Will look after work tonight for the info we put together for this topic and post it . Need to look at the knife construction and materials used and then it becomes a bit clearer.
Scagel great save . The blades on these tend to have some wobble and arenβt built for click therapy. Theyβve sure gone up in price as they cover several different areas of collecting.
