Indeed. ::tu:: I also like the what the mink oil did to the GEC pouch. Will have to try that.

I still need some bloodwood, by the way. Crossing my fingers we'll see a 73 in it soon. ::hmm:: ::nod::

I like it, but I also use a pocket sheath like you do. Im guessing the other school of thought is people who toss the knife in with their keys and change. They would possibly prefer a more matte finish.

Me personally, I like smooth and shiny. In fact, I would polish the wood too, not just the metal :-)

congrats on the beautiful woods, thanks for posting pics.

speaking of beautiful wood, I just got my first African Blackwood, and wow, that stuff is slick and greasy, and I love it!

the Sheepfoot is Blackwood, the Spear is Gabon Ebony. Will have to get a better pic, but for now, this

Yeah... I like the thought of patina, but when I start to see some specs, I feel like I must act. And so I did! ::skeptic::

Yeah the mink oil is great for darkening & softening up the leather... The one under the beavertail has been treated several times over and it's great! ::groove:: I am still working on the others, it will take some time for those I think... ::hmm:: different leather/thicker.
Definitely need to get ya one of those bloodwoods... They don't disappoint. Especially in the sunlight. ::tu::

Decisions Decisions.. I could not decide between the Blackwood and the Walnut.. So after receiving a Blackwood Single and double blade pair, I ordered a Walnut single..

Now to pick 2 or 3 to leave the house:

Just dropped my brand new #15EO Sheepfoot Jack in my pocket this morning (first GEC to ever ride in my pocket - had to make myself do it). Gonna carry it all week and see if it is really as perfect as I think it is. OH

Yep!

GEC #42 Missouri Trapper, S/No. 31.

The Trapper has been in my pocket for most of the day, an absolute joy to carry. The Stag is pretty special too.

I've been giving Ben quite a work out lately camping out on the river, from peeling potato's to cleaning fish and he seem's to like it.

My favorite carry is a back pocket sheath by D.M. Taylor.
