Yes, it’s Winterbottom.
Interesting knife. There’s a picture of one just like it (Winterbottom also) on page 143 of
Sargent’s 7th edition, in the “Case Family Brands” chapter. The knife is stamped as a pattern # 33 which matches the description in
Sargent’s. I bought the knife mainly because it is a whittler pattern, but also thinking it was made by Case. Steve Pfeiffer said he thinks it’s a Queen, and after examining the construction I believe he is right. Although it looks superficially like a Case 83 pattern, its construction is different than Tested era 83’s. However it’s also different than any Queen whittlers I have, although I don’t have any Queens of that vintage to compare.
