AND HERE ARE THE PIX OF MA SET-UP
card board box......cut out squares on side and top, duct tape to add STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY
spay glued 3 walls.......layed in white cloth(sheet).
cut extra piece of cloth for top.....i used clips for this so i can add layers to filter more light if needed.
i had the 4ft ballast but the bulbs SUCKED ::nod:: TOO YELLOW
got the DAY LIGHT BULBS i mentioned earlier...and they ROCK ::tu:: 8)
no side lamps/lights needed ....(so far ::paranoid:: )
the ballast i set up so i can raise & lower it , and still use that work bench space ::tu::

and a few things i use to take pics....
background paper is usually from wives scrap booking paper....they have some cool stuff in them paper packs from the craft store ::tu::
and a old GIL ELVGIN calander of pinips......and ma favorite ,my scap piece of copper sheet,as back grounds too........
the bike spoke tool is awesome to prop a knife on to take back spring pix ::nod:: ::tu::
and bits of leather help to prop knives for angles an such.........

Your setup works great! I especially like the spoke tool for holding up the knife. Sometimes I get to having fun taking photos and use a knife as an excuse to use a different background. Some glass ware from the second-hand store and a hard-to-find 1996 Bulldog made in the USA by Queen.

NO tripod, bass-a-roo 8)

one thing about these bulbs too..........i can take a pic from straight over top of knife (in box) like it was OUTDOORS and no shadows from my hands/arms/camera ::tu:: ::tu:: ::tu:: ::tu:: ::tu::

plus NO more little lamps in side windows, and the constant turnin'/tilting/directing of light ::tu::

Great shot indeed Monk! What a fantastic knife...hard to take a bad shot of that one!
