IM, I assume you have "special" thermometers in Alaska....mine doesen't show a -80!
Paul
There's a world of difference between a -25 wind chill (feels like) and an actual 25 below!
Wish I was down in the banana belt with IM band

We've warmed up to -8 and may get up in the teens by the end of the week. Last night was a windy -18 (wind chill -45). I've seen it as low as -55. The whole world acts different when it gets that cold. Elec. cords snap in pieces when you try to plug something in and gas pump hoses won't bend to gas up your car without snapping off, and yes you can still start a car, but not easily. Dave

Saw a picture in Sgt. Grit's newsletter last week that purported to be snow at Camp Pendleton. (just north of San Diego). This is ramping up to be one crazy winter.
My thermometer reads
-7º this morning and Weather.com is predicting 1-3 in. of snow today. Only seven more weeks until baseball spring training.

Ain't Global Warming wonderful? Some of the weather conditions around our country are just unreal to a Southerner, but y'all have been handling it for ever, just like our heat and humidity, skeeters, snakes and gators in the summer, we handle it and continue on.

Did you hear there were some snow flurries in Jacksonville Florida yesterday? There is a small possibility of sleet in west Florida some time this morning coming in from the west.
Weather is so very interesting, it a shame it has become a political issue!

This has been interior Alaska's 3rd warmest winter on record so far this year.
With the exception of one or two days around -30 it has been pretty darn pleasant.
Supposed to be up around 20* on Saturday so I got the snowmachine all loaded up ready to head to the mts in the morning.

It is a bit cooler this morning than it has been lately.
It is overcast with sprinkles and 40° at 9 AM this morning.
About average this time of year for the Willamette Valley (home of the OREGON DUCKS).
It sounds like the rest of y'all all better bundle up & try to stay warm!

Around 32 with light (freezing) rain here South Central TX today. There are a few sheets of ice sliding off the roof so it might be melting, but I intend to stay in the house today. Our local road maintenance processes, materials, and equipment are not designed to accommodate this kind of weather.

It was 31 degrees at Noon, not sure if it actually got above freezing yet today. Planning on doing some XC skiing at White Grass in WV this coming weekend so I hope it stays cold. They don't make snow there, all natural, so their season depends on cold weather and precipitation.

This past week the temperature hit a high of 12 degrees F with averages below zero and a strong wind chill. Most of the main roads around here were very slippery due to snow blowing across them and being packed down. My tractor refused to start even with repeated applications of ether and battery boost.
Today it warmed up to about 23 F and I managed to get it fired up and the majority of the snow removed from the driveway save for some that had turned to ice. As I write this we have had about two additional inches and a few more expected before it tapers off. Looks like I'll be out plowing at midnight tonight.

Ray, I recommend we all call Al Gore and ask him to come and help!

I cuss him regularly when I have to chop ice on the stock tank (an inconvenient truth).
