I also like those Gerber boot daggers but never actually bought one, and then outa the blue this wannabee was bombed to me. It'll never be a genuine MK I / II, but it's a suitable replica so I can have them represented in my accumulation.

Marco, those Cold Steel CTs are great daggers, I have a couple of different variations that they have put over the years including the original Peacekeepers (made in Japan), I actually carried one on me years ago, when I worked nights in a questionable part of town...

I THINK that Cold Steel CTs represent a good value with superior quality. Nice "C.K."

The reason Lynn Thompson, in his words, designed the blade with one side being concave, not entirely flat, was for strength. Yours is the CT 2, which has a 3 3/8" blade. The one I recently posted, in a group, is the CT 1, which has a 5" blade.

Nice picture CxIII ... I wonder if the blade with one side being concave, not entirely flat would pull out of flesh easier, if it was used in self-dense for example?

Since fullers or simply grooves in a blade, are installed specifically for creating less resistance, making withdrawing the blade from flesh easier, it stands to reason that a concave blade would accomplish this task also, but not as easy as one with a fuller due to the fuller creating the least resistance, but lesser so with a concave blade, whereas a totally flat blade would likely be the most difficult since the flat blade offers complete and total resistance as it drags it's way out of the flesh. Just my thoughts!

I've been getting my comfort from these 3 superb knives I purchased from Tony @ CCCutlery, and just now have some time to post them!
1.- This is a lovely little 6 1/4" RoseCraft Blades "Tanasi Lake Tear-Drop" slip-joint featuring a D2 spear-point blade with long pull and half-stop, all SS and NS hardware, and blue bone covers with a shield. Nicely weighted along with sweet open/close action, and a factory fit and finish. Cool addition to my accumulation of RCB knives.

2.- The 2nd RCBlades offering is this 5" RCM009 BK "Awanata" slip-joint featuring a D2 Wharncliffe blade with half-stop and long pull, black G-10 covers, integrated lanyard hoop, and adjustable pivot. Minimal weight, so one would barely notice if in your pocket or swinging gently on your keychain. Strong snapping action with a firm pull. Another that displays a perfect fit and finish. If I were asked to describe this cool little folder in 1 word it would be "Boxcutter"!

3.- This final entry is a just shy of 7" Begg Knives slip-joint, featuring a Sandvik drop-point blade with traditional n/n, black G-10 covers with NS shields, and SS bolsters and liners. This one is heavier at about 4 oz. Similar action to the previous 2 posted, and the same excellent fit and finish. I admire knives whose lines run straight and clean right into each other, and when I saw this knife that admiration was brimming. It's actually quite insane, considering I have many other models already that display those attributes, yet when I see another that crazy feeling kicks-in again, some call it their "Monkey"! What can ya do????!!!

I like those "Tanasi Lake Tear-Drops .... Marco, that is a good choice for a C.K. I also like The RoseCraft Blades Nolichucky Jack ... , And your logic on the Fullers vs. concave side makes perfect sense...

Thanks M&M ... The Case XX is a limited production run, with genuine aged Kentucky Bourbon Barrel wood handles and Bourbon Barrel XX shield. .... It may not be Crown Royal ... but close enough for me!

I don't know where you got the impression that I have money, Dog, just because I will on occasion post a higher priced model certainly doesn't mean I had the money to pay for it. I'm afraid my situation is far from what you imagine it is, my friend. The reality is, I'm an old rounder from way back who will from time to time have a large chunk of cash, but it doesn't take too many knife purchases to put me right back where I come from, a 71 yr. young man who never learned the value money, is buried in credit card debt, living from hand to mouth each month while waiting for next month's pension checks to arrive, but man, I do have some beautiful knives and don't regret one second of the journey or the
destination!

Well Marco, ... it is widely believed around the AAPK Hobo Camp that you (and TMK) were considered "One of the wealthiest members of the Hobo Camp" .... I guess you are one of the wealthiest members in terms of "quality knives & life experience" if not in actual giant piles and piles of cash and gold coins tucked away in a secret "Monopoly-Guy-Money-Counting-Room" (as some members may still yet believe ).

The type of wealth you described about quality and experience in the H.J. Camp may not be so accurate since I feel my knowledge is sorely lacking, but I'll take it all day long over M.G.M.C. Room! Believe me, if I had piles of cash I would do what I have always wanted someone to do to me, I'd send piles of $100. bills to who ever needed them to survive, and in some cases simply wanted them to make their life easier!
So if you ever see a post from me asking, "Did you get the check?", you'll know it happened! And don't worry, buddy, you're in there!

Yet another case of great minds thinking alike, Tony! I bought a Blackjack "Mamba" mid-lock with a dagger blade from Mark/SSk about 2 yrs. ago and it remains one of my most prized manuals. I had attempted to acquire knives that I could get in manual and automatic but were very similar, apart from the auto mechanism, sorta like a set, and I've done fairly well at it. So, when I saw the Skinner on the market with it's recurve blade I committed to getting a copy, not because it's also manual, but for the different blade shape, which actually is the original blade grind, my dagger blade came later. Your copy has a kinda smatchet blade, which is new to me and I don't know when it was introduced.
As I was hunting for one, I came across prices ranging from $19.95, which of course are always sold out, or, had shipping fees of 3X the knife's value, to over $100. which seemed high considering I'd seen them for so much less.
Bottom-line is, I still don't have one, and seeing your fabulous pictures has stirred the old ashes in me for getting a copy again!

Thanks Mark, our brains used to be like the egg in the frying pan, but now our brains are on knives. We probably thought alike in those days too ... glad those days are buried in the past. So to be free of all that.

I got the Yukon on a Bay auction for $65 + 7.75 shipping. Shipping from CA, it was reasonable. Been watching these for a good while ... they usually go for around 100. I had contemplated the Mamba, but wanted the Yukon. Of course, a Mamba will most likely be in the collection one day.
