Here's my Winchester Defender. This is my only firearm that doesn't live in the safe......it stays in the bedroom.

My father's day gift was a used Remington 700 BDL in .30-06.......my first experience in buying something off gunbroker.com. I had it shipped to a friend in Fort Worth that has a FFL.....driving to pick it up this weekend. My buddy says it looks perfect - if this turns out well, this gunbroker thing could get addicting. . I will post some pics when I get it home.

Be Careful, I've bought a number of guns off there and something was wrong with almost every one of them. Luckily it was repairable in most cases but it is still irritating when they don't disclose damage

Unk, my Dad bought a few guns off of Gun Broker, we never had a problem with them. Hopefully your experience with be the same.

Gino, I dig that heat shield. You can get tons of aftermarket adds for your Mossberg in case you wanted to dress it up more. I have a Maverick 88 which accepts most (can't change the fore-stock) Mossberg 500 extras. I picked up a rifled, scoped slug barrel and use mine for deer hunting.

Here's a little Remington Speedmaster Model 241 .22

This was my grandfather's gun - he died in 1947 (before I was born). It's a John Browning design....it has a neat feature - you can slide back a button on the left side and it breaks down. I called Remington a while back and this one was made in 1936. A nice little shooter. You load the shells in the stock, and it ejects the spent shells out the bottom - which is good if you happen to be left-handed, like myself. Some of my other .22 semi-autos pop the hot shells right into the crook of my right elbow. That never fails to get my attention ....you learn pretty quick to keep that elbow tucked under.

An uncle had one of the little Browning made models. I always coveted it. That and his hump-back Browning 12 ga. I wonder what happened to them when he died.

Those browning designed .22 autos are really cool.

Here's another Browning design the 1911. mine are in .45 ACP L-R Kimber aluminum compact, AMT hardballer, AND Colt commander. In the process of trading the AMT for another colt or kimber

Here's a Remington Model 11 (Browning design) 12 ga. This one was made in 1924. This was my Dad's - and it's the first shotgun I ever shot...sometime around 1971 or so. It has a Poly-choke on it.

I also have a Browning A5 Magnum 20 ga. with gold trigger. This one was made in 1967.

Muskrat- I don't have a 1911.....although it's on my short list to get. I do have a Browning Hi Power - in matte silver with the gold trigger (I believe these matte silver ones were made from around 1981-85). John Browning was working on the Hi Power design when he died in 1926.

Both the Mag 20 and the Hi Power are Belgian made Brownings.

Yes, in my opinion he ranks up there with Ford and Edison even though he is not as well known. I think by any fair assessment he would have to be considered a genius.

Nice shootin' Don! Tomorrow is our SASS shoot here in beautiful Poulsbo, WA. I'll be puttin' through the paces two double barrel 12ga. shotguns (one short, one long), a .44 Mag Marlin 1894 and a .22 Henry golen boy rifle, a pair of three screw rugers and a pair of Beretta Stampede .357's, and a .22 Ruger Blackhawk. I'll have to shoot the six stages twice to get 'em all in. Its gonna be a fun day!

Last year I found a copy of the biography John M Browning - American Gunmaker that was published by Browning Arms Company, (second edition 2008) - read half of it on a flight to Europe, half on the way back - great read if you can find a copy (out of print I understand). Browning was truly a genius.

I sure like Browning shotguns here are mine:

Japanese Auto-5, my new duck gun (mfg in 1991) - 12 gauge, 3" Magnum with Invector chokes - took me a year to find a new one, got this right after duck season ended this past winter. I wanted this so I could shoot steel shot and change out the choke tubes without worrying about hurting the thin walled barrel on a Belgian or using a fixed choke Jap. I have a Benelli M-2 for ducks but have never shot it as well as I shoot an Auto-5.

Citori White Lightning with Grade III wood in 16 gauge - a Valentine Day gift from my wife - terrific upland gun, one that I am proud to own.

BPS 12 gauge, 3" Magnum with Invector Plus - set up to be my dedicated turkey hunting shotgun.

Belgian Auto-5, my dove gun - shoot skeet with it too, very sweet handling and in 16 gauge too (my favorite), this is a standard A-5, not a Sweet Sixteen. This one was made in mid 1951, a very early A-5 with the side mounted safety (guns made earlier in 1951 still came with the front mounted safety).

Well, it was a good day at the range. It did get a little warm; nearly 72 degrees! Whew! Damn sun was in my eyes most of the day, too. However, I managed to score two first place ribbons and one second, and I placed six out of twenty shooters, and most are damn good shooters too!

Here's my .22 alias "Dinky Johnson" shootin' the Henry after shooting my way out of jail with a Ruger .22 pistol.Another stage with the Henry We shoot six stages with pistol, rifle, and shotgun; I actually shot six as Gunstock Jack and six as Dinky Johnson. The last stage of the day we shot ten rounds from the "horse" scabbard for the annual "Blondie Award" braggin' rights; winner was determined by whoever had all ten hits in the shortest time. This "long range" target was at about 25 yards and the winning time was just over fourteen seconds. I shot and hit all ten with the .44 Marlin, but it took me nineteen seconds from the scabbard. My second attempt with the .22 Golden Boy took about thirteen seconds, but since Double Deuce isn't a legal SASS catagory, it didn't count as a win. (Also the rifle is too quiet to register on the timer so the RO had to tap on it about a second after I finished shooting). I impressed a few people though and they are lovin' the Henry too! They gave me a first place ribbon for that stage instead of the Blondie Award, but I still get the braggin' rights!. If you like to shoot and haven't tried Cowboy Action Shooting, you could be missing the best time in your life. Great people and there are SASS clubs in every state and many foreign countries. You can watch for free and if you're interested, the cowboys are always willing to help out a "noob" and even let him/her shoot their guns. SASS has a website that's easy to find or call your local gun club/range.
