The knife is an automatic and has a cutting edge on one side and fork on the other and of course may be opened with one hand.
Seen these selling for $450

I have seen two or three in similar condition get into the $700-800 range, but that was in late February or March when it was probably tax refund money being spent. I have seen only one that carried the blade etch of a prosthetics firm, but I don't venture into the switchblade or Civil War market that often and the knife doesn't show up on ebay that often.

The knife came in the morning's mail; I live in a small town and have a P.O. box so I could get it early. I have these observations: 1) it has be lightly sharpened on one side. 2) it has some kind of an etch on the face of the blade but I can't make it out--yet. I know a trick to where I just might be able to get it to where I can decipher it.

No such luck, durnit. There's something on the face of the blade but it's just to faint to make out. I have doubts a scan can do any good either, but I'll give it a whirl. Well, I did get a scan of it, but in person it is so extraordinarily faint that I doubt if anybody can see much of it with the naked eye. Here's some scans of it, warts and all.

Any of you have a clue who did this file work? I got it in the box Saturday. It is slicker and almost too nice to put in a sheath.

Thanks Gino . . Any photos I've taken can't do the finish justice. When I unwrapped it I couldn't believe the shine. Like I said it is almost too beautiful to carry and I don't have much desire to have too many knives I can't use daily. I've got a few but they are heirlooms and slated for the heirs down the line.
I'm not a real Schrade fan but I am a fan of the U.S. made LB7. I have a couple others -A nice one with a broken spring (slated for the "winter" bench work) and one just an old working man's knife I carry on my belt when out and about. Super sharp, kinda banged around but a good edc. Sometimes I wish they weren't so heavy.
Here a couple more pics that show the logo etched in the wood handle and more of the file work. Sure makes me curious who did it. And who the heck is IMS. . .? If removing that logo doesn't make the knife less valuable I might Dremel it out and put a silver stud or shield of some kind there next winter.

I managed to get a few buys this Labor Day weekend. At least I feel that I got them bought right. For three buys I got a good Anheuser-Busch Stanhope, a couple of Ka-Bars and a LL Bean fixed blade. Here's some pics and the links to them on ebay. Now for the postman to do his thing and get 'em to me.

! I do like the Robeson knife but I couldn't tell what the other $10 prize was till I looked up the patent numbers that are showing in the pic. Is that a mini-belt grinder
of some sort? Couldn't see enough of it to understand how it works.

NOS(American made) Dynabrade beltsander,list somewhere over $500.Guy bought out contents of a shop and said there were 10 an this was the last one.When I picked it up the guy said 15,I said I really didn't need it(BS) he said ok 10,and the rest is Im'e gonna buy some belts on Monday and use it.
