I don't know about the red patch but in Texas a purple patch or strip means No Trespassing.

This pocket knife was one in a group of nine that I recently purchased. I didn't buy the group for this particular pocket knife. It's a VICTORINOX florist pocket knife. It measures 4" closed and 6 3/8" open. It's in VERY good condition. It didn't need any cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

I recently picked up one of those as well. It takes a razor's edge with little effort, and I'm really bad at sharpening.

Those are nice little knives. I have one and then I have one that the blade is what I call a small Hawkbill blade.
