If it makes you feel any better, it's been warm and humid in the Detroit Metro (helped not at all by recent flooding). Even my basement was unpleasant. Stay cool!

Oh, and I'm on the hunt for a locally brewed pilsner. We'll see how that goes.

I've had 3 or 4 beers from this brewery. I did not care for any of them.

When I was visiting my skiing bud in Tahoe several . . . well, now maybe 15 . . . years ago, he had a beer from Humboldt, CA that was some kind of Hemp Ale. I wasn't wild about it and I don't think he was either. Funny thing about my bud, he always left a dead soldier when we drank a few together at night. I would tell him in the morning when getting up at 6:00 AM to go skiing that he had to finish it before we could leave. That's the rule, right?

When I was a kid this was brewed in Cumberland. The building still stands on Center Street close to Southern States.

Enjoyed this with my steak as I watch the MLB Home Run Derby. First time I’ve tried it - has a little more bite than some Porters. I like it!

Finishing up the last of the New Holland Dragon's Milk...a craft Pilsner is next on the to-try list.

Those look deeeeeeeeeeelicious, Ken & Dan! I could settle down for a long Winter's nap with one of those.


This is not really my cup of . . . beer . . . but my sister gave this to my bud who was visiting from Hattiesburg and he couldn't take it back on the plane. She says Richmond, VA is a great beer town with all the craft brewers there. It starts off hoppy but the finish is not so terrible.

I'm not much of an IPA fan, either, but the mango might help with the hoppy nature. And the blue rope bone Schrades...keep right on showing those beauties!
