Did the two of you just use the phrase "nothing special" when speaking of a 72 and 1047????? No matter the condition they are always something special. I will let it slide just this once. Repeat after me...no matter the variation the 72 family is always something special.DSCN6275.JPG

Picked this up last week , with the box and papers , 72 with the yellow composite handles. This is my 4th 72
They're like popcorn. Once you start, you don't want to stop. That's a fine start to the addiction.
Jerry, Where does it stop?
I just picked up another #72 today...
pictures to follow... and I also went for a hike in the desert and thought as I was getting ready to go; "WWJC" (What Would Jerry Carry)? I hope I did not let you down
If I did, I am prepared to drop and bust out 20

You are just fine doing what you're doing. Carry on.
I have been to the city but have not seen the elephant so I'm not sure it ever stops.
I can't ask anyone to do something I can't do and there's no way on God's green earth I could "bust out 1" these days, much less 20.

Thanks Jerry D. for the sage words and pearls of wisdom

And remember: "your only as old as you feel"

Like me for example... in the morning I feel like a twenty year old... after being crushed under a small car...

Yesterday afternoon, my visit to the post office produced this pocket knife. It now becomes my latest example to be posted under this topic or thread. It also becomes the latest example to be added to my collection. It is a CAMILLUS 72 (short line), FIRST GENERATION, three blades, two tang stamps, 3 5/8" closed, swelled center, a long matchstrike and blade pull, "whittler" pattern or style of pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says "CAMILLUS (over) NEW YORK (over) USA" The main blade back tang stamp says "72", the pattern number. I now have a total of 22, short-line tang stamps, CAMILLUS 72 pocket knives. I have 13, FIRST GENERATION, CAMILLUS 72 pocket knives and I have 9, SECOND GENERATION, CAMILLUS 72 pocket knives. The main blade has no half stop, has a weak opening snap and no closing snap. The secondary blade has no half stop and has no opening or closing snap. The third blade has a good half stop, also a good opening snap and a good closing snap. Overall, this pocket knife is in VERY GOOD+ condition. I gave the blades a bit of a cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.
