All About Pocket Knives

Found these two this morning at a trade day, now to find some shields.....

Both Bokers,
- First one a little Alemania 1/2 Congress? or is it just a Pen knife? with good snap and good bone with one tight crack on the back scale.
- Other is a Rough Black Stockman with full blades and good snap, still need some cleaning. May try to find a shell casing to fit for this shield.
(SWEET - Update, a quick call to Boker and they have a 9mm round shield on the way to me, no bar shield in stock though...)

Got home today to find another of old Bens hunting knives in my mail box it was his old Marbles.Bens friend have been delivering me a knife a month since he died.

Thanx Geno that 41 is a gem.the sheath is not original Ben wore the original out in the 80's.

The stag has wonderful color/warmth to it which I assume comes from years of use.

I've always wanted one of these vintage carving knives.....and the hammer......

Found these this morning

Ranger single blade liner lock. I haven't seen many single blades of this knife
Colonial elec knife with hawkbill blade

Those are some great finds. I especially like the electrician knife.

I just picked this up....Still waiting for delivery so pics are small.
Knife only has JEO on tang,,,
Any ideas what its history is?

Hi Robert, I have one just like it. Mine is marked Skandia Tools. I searched but found nothing about them until I posted a query at BritishBlades.com. I got this answer:

"I bought one of these several years ago direct from a Sheffield maker; they're made to a generic pattern in Sheffield with blank blades and then stamped for whoever orders them: for resale or corporate issue, so there's no 'Sheffield' stamp. Marketed I believe as an electrician's knife."

Here is a photo of mine. They are a nice solid, well made knife.

A man could look high and LOW for info on a rare knife and then they could post a question on AAPK and SHAZAM!!!

Thanks...Gives me a starting point...I have a Sheffield sterling carving set and the bolsters resemble somewhat as I recall..(they are in storage)..

You're welcome, I think you'll like yours when it arrives. I wish I knew more about them, like the actual manufacturer and when they were made. Let me know what you think when you've looked yours over?

UPDATE, cleaned up and a VOOS added in. Boker Stockman does still have etch, it is just washed out by the light.

I picked up a solidly built linoleum knife with no marks. Gonna see about putting a good edge on it.

Just returned from a trip to Atlanta to watch our little grandsons play baseball in a fall league. Great time with daughter and her family, also did a little hunting for green glass and knives with my wife. Still amazed at the amount of high priced junk people sell. I found 7 knives that were willing to come back to the Florida panhandle with me and Ms Joy. An additional knife was my belated birthday gift from my grandsons, a nice used Frontier 41P4 Imperial.
Amongest all the junk knives (China) in an antique store, I found a new in the box, Old Timer, Schrade+USA 93OT, complete with paperwork and the blue foam in the box.
Picked up a 55OT Old Timer, and a 5OT Old Timer, both have USA Schrade+ blades, to go with the green glass that Momma was hunting.
Found a 2 blade Boker USA, missing the Tree Brand shield. Haven't figured out what pattern it is but it will bite you like an alligator!
Then there are the 3 that belong in the $1 finds: a money clip, Winchester logo, no name, thought it might be a Zippo?, a Boker, stainless handle, missing the small blade, and a Taylor Cutlery, 2" long with half stop.

The ZIPPO money clip style knives have opening at oposite ends, and they have ZIPPO stamped on the tang.
