I used to park my car on streets and walk from house to house knocking on doors and asking .It was rare to get a no. If they wanted I’d give them the coins they wanted. Most watched for a bit to see if I was going to make a mess and then went back in. If somebody lost a ring etc. I’d look for it for them. I guess it is WHO is asking. Smile and you can get almost anything you want! I used to sell insurance though.Kimzilla wrote: ↑Fri Oct 20, 2023 12:19 am Thanks JW, but I'm guessing you have never been to NJ....I wouldn't dare ask someone if I could treasure hunt on their property out of sheer fear of a HIGHLY likely hostile response. I have to wonder where you treasure hunt that they don't mind you doing it on private property. The other thing is, if the treasure is on their property, isn't it rightfully theirs no matter who found it?![]()

This model has the removeable spring and dual-headed pin to hold it in, AND, a screw-in pivot as opposed to a fixed rivet, so it has both of the methods used to send it to restricted countries instead of just one or the other. It's still very tight with no defects and fires like the proverbial cannon, even the safety works perfectly. And of course it has a nail-nic to use for when the spring breaks before you can replace it. The knife has a bit of a unique feature too, the front tang is stamped "EDGECO/Stainless", but the back tang is stamped "TALY/Stainless", the "I" in "Italy" is missing, and it actually looks like it was never there, not just faded or rubbed off from wear.
My favorite muscle car is the really sleek looking 1970 Plymouth Barracuda, followed closely by the 1970 Dodge Challenger. I've tried to get myself to like the convertible models, but somehow they seem wimpy to me without their rooves/roofs (?). I'm sure my liking of these 70 models is due to the fact I was 17 in 1970 and had recently got my licence, resulting in me dreaming about owning one!
Your favored 74' SD455 Firebird is likely so costly cuz it's a MONSTER!
My comment about your avatar was because you'd just put it up and were showing the same knife to us in your post, that's why it was familiar.
You DEFINITELY should have your gal holding the knife in your avatar, one can never see too many beautiful women, and I for one wouldn't consider that to be exceeding things!

Re: Some of my autos!
My brother had a lime green Roadrunner,400 4 speed. It was a fast car. I have stories that would turn you pale. One day we got some beer and went cruising in central Wi. A large motorcycle passed my brother on this two lane hwy. My brothers name was Clyde and he would race with ANYBODY driving anything. Clyde was going near 100 mph when he passed the cycle. We were laughing that we passed the guy when I looked back and saw red lights way back. Clyde hit the gas again and we tried to get further from the cop that was chasing us. He hit the brakes and made a left down a side road where we drove into a corn field and stayed for a while. I was maybe 16 then.
Re: Some of my autos!
Treasure comes in all sizes. I found 6 gold rings, one gold chain, and three silver rings last year. I cashed in about 200.00 in change, found three pocket knives( no switchblades), and a ring for a young lady at the beach.
Re: Some of my autos!
Yes,we were not the most well behaved boys. We were best friends though and we seemed to always make it home. Clyde was not so lucky after we both got our own lives and families. He was into making knives for a while and made me one I deer hunted with many years. I still have it but it’s dull and he was my knife sharpener. Gosh, let’s cheer up here girl!

Guys!
I started this thread as a showcase for my and other folks auto knives, and it was rolling along nicely for 15 pages or so, then the off topic discussions began and now it's like a talk show and I feel like Steve Harvey.
Without stepping on anyone's feelings, could I ask that in the future should you have something to say to each other that you please say it via PM or email, that way the thread remains pure and you guys can talk to each other as long as you like.
I don't wish for another problem like we had last time this came up, so if you feel you can't or won't comply with my request, please don't discuss it on the thread, instead, simply carry-on talking off topic and I will accept that.
Thanks folks, I appreciate your consideration!

I feel ya MM. I started a thread on another knife forum back in 2012, and it's still going. A few times people veered too far off topic and I had to ask for them to stop. And on one occasion when people failed to respond to my polite request and engaged in personal attacks against each other I had to ask the Moderators to intervene, which they did.
I'd say your request was appropriate and delivered respectfully. And I would expect nothing less from you.
I haven't been a member here long, but I've been reading this forum long before I joined up, and something that has stood out to me is how friendly you are. You always offer a warm welcome to new members and compliment peoples knives. Fact is, you're the nicest guy I've seen on this forum.
You're good in my book.
I look forward to seeing more of your knives.

No offence taken, and regarding my character defects, you forgot to add "in my opinion". And thanks a bunch for scolding me in public rather than by PM or email, I appreciate it.Kimzilla wrote: ↑Sat Oct 21, 2023 3:03 amGot it Marco. I didn't intend to offend you with my folders, I just thought they were "happy" knives that I posted in a reply to someone who obviously was feeling a bit unhappy about a situation.
You really are confusing. You get off topic for as long as you like and then when other people do it you condemn them for it. I was actually waiting for this to happen. I noticed that as long as you are involved in the off topic banter you are fine with it and as soon as it doesn't include you, you go beserk. I honestly am trying to get along with you Marco and I've made many efforts to be your friend but you seem to get angry at the drop of a hat and I can't understand why. You also have decided to put your 2 cents in where it wasn't necessary when people were at odds with each other, which makes you seem like an instigator.
I still want to get along with you but I need YOU to see what you do - and you do it a lot - and I am new here.

Here is a recent acquisition. I got as part of a box of folders. They said it didn't work. All it needed was a little oil. It fires like a beast! I have no idea who the maker is but it is stamped USA so that must be true! This is a good EDC,
I will definitely get some more sexy shots coming along... at least the ones that I can post here

Re: Some of my autos!
I'm not familiar with that knife, QGL, but it sure looks like a solid little user. Sometimes the least expected models turn out to be decent knives. It's low-end but still quite decent, which is confirmed by the spine mounted slide safety, if it was a bottom-of-the-barrel model the safety would be mounted directly above and centered at the top of the top bolster like some Chinese models.
Thanks for your compliment about my Edge Co. stiletto, I appreciate the words.
I still have plenty to post, but I'm just so darn busy I have to find the time, and I'm looking forward to seeing more of yours too, the sexier the better!

P.S.-It's amazing what a drop or two of Quick Release oil will do, isn't it!

Tks Marco! No doubt the little user is a good one. I managed to get ink all over the top parts the scales. PRO TIP... never place a pen in the same pocket at your EDC even for a short period of time.Madmarco wrote: ↑Sun Oct 29, 2023 2:08 am I'm not familiar with that knife, QGL, but it sure looks like a solid little user. Well, you certainly won't get any complaints from me, QGL!!!
Now the mods may see it differently though! If they do, I would think a slap on the wrist would be your punishment, and personally I'd say it's sure worth it!
We could actually have a lot of fun using similar backgrounds for our knife shots, although, the abundance of willing backgrounds could be a problem, not all of us know such lovely backgrounds!
On a different note, I'd not seen that style of blade previously, as-a-matter-of-fact, I don't even know what you'd call it, guthook perhaps, but then yesterday I received an inexpensive Fury folder with the same blade, and then you show it again in your post!

Re: Some of my autos!
Thanks, QGL, unfortunately that Fury isn't what I was expecting it to be. It's by no means a POS, but just not as well done as the pictures and description intimated. It was that odd shaped blade that caught my eye.
I too have 3, 13" oal AKC stilettos that sport a mixture of dark horn and ebony covers, along with brass and stainless hardware, and they're among some of the first autos I've acquired.
All 3 knives operate as they should, right down to their lazy blade deployment due to their size, and although I've had them close to 4 yrs. I still very much enjoy them.
Your bonus picture couldn't be more perfect, but it must be warm where you live, either that or your background is a most willing participant!

Re: Some of my autos!
I recently had some new autos come to me, and here's a few of them!
We begin with this 8 1/2" Medteh Russian leverlock featuring snappy blade deployment and Walnut covers! Moving right along is this brother Medteh Russian 8 1/2" - 9 with it's bale single-front bolster-ear blade release with the same action as it's bro and dense dark wood covers! Both of these Medteh autos IMO are among the best made and becoming like hen's-teeth to find! Which brings us to this 8 1/2" more traditional RPK that features a unique safety/blade release system installed into the top bolster and light colored wooden covers! I'll finish up today with this 14" BO/BC Pak-O-Stani made POS, that's "lovely to look at delightful to hold but once you have it you'll wonder why it's sold." Plenty of engraving like etchings and a monster in-hand, but the action and mechanics of any old inexpensive POS junk automatic knife! Think, China! My first real dud in the 60 autos I've acquired! It just goes to show, you can ALMOST win em' all!

Re: Some of my autos!
Here's some more, and all are from AGA Campolin!
The 9 1/2" "Dominus" leverlock with ebony covers, SS blade, and NS hardware! Their 12" "Sicilian" ring-pull with a SS blade, NS embellishments, and stag covers! Followed by the 10 1/2" "Zero+" featuring black G-10 covers, SS blade, and NS construction! And for comparison purposes is my already owned 8 1/2" "Zero" which is built the same using the same materials as it's big brother shown below it, albeit it's black-coated blade! IMO, some of the coolest autos made!
