I managed to get out and back up the hill today but my F 150 4x4 was bellying out all the way down the hill. By staying in my tracks I was able to make it back up without getting stalled out but it was touch and go for a minute or two. Right now it's sunny and not bad at about 21 degrees with no wind, but we're predicted to get more snow tomorrow and then hit a low of -15 on Thursday. Sure makes me glad I live in the south where the winters are "mild".

About the same here Phil, except my driveway is only a c150 ft. or so. But the rural road is clear,if I can get out of my driveway.Bad timing for my furnace to go out though.

Have to order a new heat exchanger.
Dang, Lyle, I hope you got that fixed.

Cloudy, possible heavy showers, *72F at Copacabana, NSW AU. I should complain as on the north east coast, they have category 5 cyclone belting them, with another right behind it. They are talking 4ft of rain water. Their motto in Queensland is "Beautiful one day Fantastic the Next".....not this week though.
Tony.

It looks like Perry and I are under the gun again tonight (I think it'll gonthat far south), and Phil too!
Looks to be snow, ice, rain, and freezing rain tonight through tomorrow. This will be interesting. The national weather service is saying that the snow we have on the ground is so dry that whatever rain that falls will get soaked up and freeze.
Yep ought to be right interesting here on the hill.

Today it's raining here on top of the foot of snow that's laying on the ground and rooftops. The added weight of the rainwater is more than some roofs can handle. I know of two public buildings that have suffered roof collapse today. Also, now that the temps have moderated (34 degrees right now), lots of frozen pipes are breaking loose and causing damage. My driveway has turned to pure slush so I'm not even considering going out today or most likely tomorrow. Like Perry, I've got plenty of groceries so I can endure this for a while. I"m greatful for the diversion and entertainment that AAPK provides me all the more.

Seriously Phil, my heart goes out to you Guys. Being a California Native, I can't begin to imagine what living in that climate is like.

Last year we in Northern Mn. got what the East coast is getting this year with many roofs going down. I got work cleaning roofs and later fixing the ones for those that didn't want to spend the money cleaning them. This year we are just getting the cold. I'll take the cold and the snow over the freezing rain (which we usually don't get much of) anyday. We started today at 20 below, snow and warmer tomorrow, and back to the minuses all the rest of the week with nothing over zero. It's been a long winter.___Dave

That sounds perfect for my wife. She'd be satisfied to never see snow, ever! I like a bit of snow in the winter, brings out the kid in me.
I've heard of some less than smart individuals who like to get out in in an old truck and play a little bit on the slick old narrow side roads away from all the houses, of course. Not me you understand

I listened to a weatherman and did not wear my thermals today; tomorrow I will! Today was a cloudy, windy, damp day for me. High in the low forties. Not bad temps at all, but we were out in the flats where the wind was really cutting.
No snow for me: if I were a hundred miles north, maybe.

We got a pretty good little dose yesterday of what's been going on up north. It was in mid-60s and sunny here Saturday afternoon. Sunday AM temp down to 40 degrees and still falling, steady rain started about 9 and temp fell below freezing by dark. Sleet and freezing rain all night. Solid sheet of ice on everything this morning.

High temp today was 26, still cloudy and not expected to get above freezing until Wednesday. Schools all closed. Creeks still running and stock pond not frozen yet so probably won't have to bust ice for the critters this time.
