Back on March 24, 2025, I purchased the two items posted below. One item is a complete, ALLEN CUTLERY COMPANY pocket knife. The other item is an ALLEN CUTLERY COMPANY handle with a.....? Well, I don't know what the hell the "blade" is. The seller shipped both of the items together, in the same packaging, with one tracking number. The package was accepted by the USPS in Pennsylvania, on March 26, 2025. The package had an "expected" delivery date of March 31, 2025. The package did arrive at an Arizona USPS facility on March 28, 2025. It was then posted "in transit" from March 29, 2025 to April 1, 2025. I never did receive the package. After I notified EBay that I never received the package, the seller then filed a missing mail search on April 17, 2025. As of yesterday, April 29, 2025, there has been NO update on the status of the "missing mail search." I am VERY, VERY, patient when it comes to the USPS. I figure there are three things that can happen regarding the package. One, the package can make its way back to the seller, and we can start over again. Two, the package can still make its way to me, my favorite option. Three, the package stays in "in transit limbo" and my money gets refunded. Anyway, the two pictures below are the seller's pictures. The first picture is of the complete, "NORMAL", ALLEN CUTLERY COMPANY pocket knife. The second picture is of the VERY, VERY, "BIZARRE", ALLEN CUTLERY COMPANY pocket "knife"(?) I was REALLY looking forward to getting my hands on, and researching, the second pocket "knife"(?) If the pocket knife and the pocket "knife"(?) ever do end up in my possession, I will post each one individually. But until then.....

But, in the meantime, while I continue to PATIENTLY wait.....

Yesterday afternoon, my visit to the post office produced this pocket knife "oddity." It is my latest example to be posted under this topic or thread. It also became the latest example to be added to my collection. It appears to be both, a DOLPHIN CUTLERY Co AND an ALLEN CUTLERY COMPANY, one blade, one tang stamp, one handle stamp, 3 1/8" closed, all metal, pocket knife. This is a pocket knife "oddity" because it has a DOLPHIN CUTLERY Co blade, along with an ALLEN CUTLERY COMPANY handle. The main blade front tang stamp is block style and says, "DOLPHIN (over) CUTLERY Co (over) NEW YORK" The handle stamp says, "PAT. (over) JAN-23-17 (over) U.S.A." Rather than looking at this blade and handle combination as an attempt to deceive, I suspect that this pocket knife is yet just another example of a previous owner, combining surviving parts of two different pocket knives, to make one, functional, pocket knife. It is still two thirds of an ALLEN CUTLERY COMPANY pocket knife (1917-1925), the handle and the pivot pin. The blade does have a CRISP half stop. The blade does have a VERY GOOD opening snap. The blade does have a VERY GOOD closing snap. This pocket knife is in GOOD condition. This pocket knife did NOT need any cleaning at all. I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.

This morning, my trip to the post office produced this advertising pocket knife. It now becomes my latest example to be posted under this topic or thread. It also became the latest example to be added to my collection. It is a G. SCHRADE, one blade, a cap lifter or bottle opener handle, 3" closed, all metal, advertising, pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says, "G. SCHRADE (over) KNIFE CO. INC. (over) B'PORT. CT. (over) U.S.A." The main handle side says, "Drink Nugrape" (written). The other handle side says, "Drink Nugrape" (written). This is my sixth pocket knife, in this particular pattern or style, that advertises this specific product, company, business, event, etc. Overall, this is pocket knife number thirty-four, in this particular pattern or style. My other thirty-three pocket knives, in this distinct pattern or style, have ALL been previously posted, under and throughout, this topic or thread. While this pocket knife is most definitely NOT an ALLEN CUTLERY COMPANY pocket knife, it definitely DOES fit into the "cousin" category. It is a "cousin" of the ALLEN CUTLERY COMPANY, the EAGLE KNIFE COMPANY, the ETCHED P. COMPANY and some other knife or cutlery companies that manufactured pocket knives of a similar, simple, pattern or style. The main blade does have a few issues. The main blade does have a WEAK half stop. The main blade does NOT have an opening snap. The main blade does NOT have a closing snap. This pocket knife is NOT the prettiest example in my collection. But overall, this pocket knife is in FAIR condition. This pocket knife did need a little bit of cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

While I continued to wait PATIENTLY for my package to be delivered, I did receive an email saying that a package was delivered to my P.O. Box. Since I was ONLY waiting for the "in transit limbo" package to be delivered, I got pretty excited. I went to the Post Office filled with anticipation, I really should have known better. Oh yes, there was a package in my P.O. Box. It was a DAMAGED, OPENED, and EMPTY box, sealed in a Post Office plastic bag, from Pennsylvania, with a generic "apology" printed on it. I suppose there is still a VERY, VERY slim chance that the items will find their way back to the seller, or preferably, find their way to me. But in reality, it looks like it's refund time. The two "missing" items, the pocket knife and the pocket "knife"(?), are out there somewhere, quite possibly in someone's possession. It will be VERY interesting to see if the two "missing" items, the pocket knife and the pocket "knife"(?), are researched here, on AAPK. It will be VERY interesting to see if the two "missing" items, the pocket knife and the pocket "knife"(?), end up on eBay.

I Never Thought That I Would EVER Find Myself Referring To ANY ALLEN CUTLERY COMPANY Pocket Knife As A BEAUTY.
But In Fact I Did, Twice Before, Describing ALLEN CUTLERY COMPANY Pocket Knives. And Now, This Is The Third Time.

Very recently, my trip to the post office produced this ALLEN CUTLERY COMPANY, NEWBURGH, N.Y. (1917-1925), pocket knife. It now becomes my latest example to be posted under this topic or thread. It is also became the latest example to be added to my collection. It is an ALLEN CUTLERY COMPANY, one blade, one tang stamp, one handle stamp, 3 1/8" closed, all metal, pocket knife. It also was made with a chain and shackle hole. The main blade front tang stamp says, "ALLEN (over) CUTLERY CO. (over) NEWBURGH, N.Y." The patent date handle stamp says, "PAT. (over) JAN-23-17 (over) U.S.A." I would guesstimate, that on both of the handle sides, the factory applied, black oxidation, is 99.999% complete. The main blade does have a CRISP half stop. The main blade does have an OK opening snap. The main blade does have an OK closing snap. This pocket knife is in EXCELLENT condition. This pocket knife did NOT need any cleaning at all. I just wiped it off.

It also became the most recent example to join my collection. It is an ALLEN CUTLERY COMPANY, NEWBURGH N.Y. (1917-1925), one blade, two handle stamps, 4 1/8" closed, all metal, No. 30 pattern, hawkbill, pocket knife. The manufacturer handle stamp says, "ALLEN (over) CUTLERY CO. (over) NEWBURGH, N.Y." The patent date handle stamp says, "PAT. (over) JAN-23-17 (over) U.S.A." There is NO tang stamp. This is my ninth, ALLEN No. 30, hawkbill pocket knife. My other eight, ALLEN No. 30, hawkbill pocket knives, have ALL been previously posted, under and throughout, this topic or thread. I actually have a total of eleven of these hawkbill pocket knives. ALL eleven hawkbill pocket knives have an ALLEN CUTLERY COMPANY handle. However, two of the eleven hawkbill pocket knives have Ulery blades. The two, previously posted, Ulery hawkbill pocket knives are legitimate. The main blade has a GOOD half stop. The main blade has a VERY GOOD opening snap. The main blade has a VERY GOOD closing snap. Overall, this pocket knife is in GOOD condition. This pocket knife did NOT require cleaning. I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.
