Being older, retired, and not in the best of health I don't get out of the house like I use to, so the need to carry a knife on a daily basis just isn't there. But, I still very much like to have a knife beside me on the table while I'm on my laptop or watching TV., as this brings me much pleasure to simply hold, admire, open letters, or cut strings with, so I pick 1 knife each day to take it's place on my table. I have heard members refer to these as "desk" or "office" knives, but I'm going to call them my "comfort" knives,...
It's also quite a comfort to me to learn that I'm not the only one who feels this way. Thanks, Madmarco!
My latest favorite is this Case 6375...

Funny you should mention "satisfaction" CxIII ....

I find that,

When I'm driving in my car,

When a man come on the radio,

He's telling me more and more:
About some useless information
Supposed to fire my imagination
I can't get no, oh, no, no, no, hey, hey, hey
That's what I say
I can't get no satisfaction... Yeah ....

I can't get much satisfaction with anything but knives anymore....

Hey guys!
Thanks for your knice words, John, and I was doing well until recently. I had a blur in my right eye, and it turned out to be a full blown cataract that totally blew-up after I left the Dr. It' has completely blurred my vision making typing a real job, not to mention trying to look after myself day to day. The worst part is a 9 month wait for eye surgery, but now that I have developed some kind of routine, I will check in as often as possible so ya'll know I'm still kickin'. I can't contribute much, since it's really tiring, but at least I can be here in spirit.
In a short 9 months I'll be back posting and wowing you with my tales of the knife!
Thanks for keeping the CKT relevant, brothers!

Beautiful pieces you're all posting!
Mark.

Mark, I wish you a successful surgery! My wife's father also had the procedure recently, everything went well, and he says his vision is better than in his youth (he's 82)
Cool scout! I only recently began to understand how cool they are

I just pulled my Canon 35mm out from a drawer, where it has been for the past 15 years,

it still has a roll of film in it from 20 years when I was in Brazil and there are still a few shots left to take....

In an ongoing effort to organize my life, I spent some time organizing some knives and effects in this display cabinet I bought a while ago. I also put some effort into refurbishing this old metal counter top display. Almost no humans outside of my family will see these down here. Bit of a misnomer to call them "displays" then if they won't be seen; they're for my comfort and enjoyment
Still have one space to fill on the metal display, and still some real estate in the glass case. The jewelry tower cabinet to the left also recently had a user collection move in.

I have carried this knife now for about 5 weeks. I have had
trouble getting the blades as sharp as I wanted so it
sat on the bathroom counter for weeks instead of joining
the other knives. Finally got it to where I like it.
Robeson bone, 633594, from 1939 or a little earlier.
I think it is one of my favorite knives even though it
is missing the shield and has seen some moderate use.
