Here are a few RR's with "Armor Hide" jigged bone. I really like it.

Here are RR knives from 3 different "Series" that have similar jigged bone, similar to each other and similar to the "Armor Hide" series.
Gunstock Bone Series, Rifleman Series and the Bowie series. All are exceptionally nice knives at any price.

And here are a few of the COLT 175th Anniversary knives with very fine jigged bone, looks a bit like old fashioned "checkering".

Those are excellent and I love the checkered bone jigging that resembles checkered grips. ::tu::

The 2 posted above by bighomer are very high quality. As good as RR's were when i started buying them in 2007, they have steadily improved the fit and finish so they now rival any production knife including GEC. I know some people will react 'that's B.S." but it will be those who do not have a few of the recent Rough Riders to see for themselves how high and how consistent the quality is. And it does seem 'unbelievable'. It is counter to our long held belief that if you pay more you get a better product.
Even back in 2007 blades always arrived sharp and held their edge very well. It is just as good know. They have not gotten complacent and let blade sharpness 'slip'.
I get just as much enjoyment from opening up and handling a $15-$20 RR knife as i do from getting a knife that costs 10x as much. I can get 10 RR knife thrills for the same amount of money as 1 'other knife' thrill. ::woot::

I agree 100%!
I've been buying Rough Riders for over ten years and have yet to get a lemon.
The fit and finish is as good if not better than a knife that would cost 10 times as much.
I missed out on the micarta swayback wharncliffe and can't find one anywhere.
If anyone knows where I can get one let me know.

Yes that's the one Jerry.
They are sold out everywhere.
There's a knife website in Germany that has them but I don't think they would ship to the United States.

Just a thought, maybe if you could get one of the members of AAPK who lives in that part of the world to purchase for you and on send. Just a thought, i do not know how the logistics would work with transfer of money and such, i'm not that smart. But i have found everyone on the forum to be very helpful and obliging. Hope you can get one, but as said just ask the company first, good luck. ::handshake::

I sent them an email, so I'll see what happens.
That's a good idea you have though. ::handshake::

Hey Beav (or would you rather I call you Mr. Tail? ), do you have the web address for that seller in Germany?

Thank you Tim. From what I can tell, it's priced in Swiss Francs. A little research on an unrelated site indicated that shipping via FedEx would probably be around $15. ::shrug::

The research that Jerry has done just shows the help that people are prepared to give one another at AAPK, well done mate. ::tu::

Thanks so much for taking the time to do This!
I figured that if they would ship here it would be pretty high.
Shipping price plus the cost of the knife would be about $40.
I really want one, but I'll have to think about it.

I just received an email from the knife shop.
The knife plus shipping will be over $60.
A little to steep for me.

I finally found one! ::ds::
I bought it from a knife dealer in England.
The knife cost 12 pounds plus 6 pounds priority registered mail.
It arrived today and I'm very happy with it.
It reminds me of a GEC Viper.
I'll try to get a photo of it.

That's $23.45 USD. Not bad at all.
