Many thanks to bighomer and to many others of you who offered prayers for my brother's surgery over on the Upper Room thread. All went well without complications and he is back at home now. I thank our Creator and Father who tempers the storms of life for each of us.

Just browsing through the Diners posts and saw yours about your brothers procedure. Glad everything went well with no complications and he is resting back at home. Hope you are also well. ::handshake::

Good morning. Yesterday morning I had a little tiny bit of a sore throat. By the end of the day it had developed into a major head cold with full body aches. DaQuil and NyQuil seem to be helping so I'll just lay around for a couple days. Everyone I know has had this so I guess my turn was pretty much going to happen. It's supposed to be cold and sunny today with a slight chance of some minor precip tomorrow. Jason is coming over to get a tarp rigged over his boat and Jane is going dress shopping with a bunch of ladies for our grand-daughter's wedding that's over a year away. I can't process buying an expensive dress that may or may not fit in a year. I'm sure there will be a ton of stuff going into the planning that will happen over a years' time that I would have thought could have been done the week before the wedding. Book the church and preacher and gas up the car should about do it. I should have become a wedding planner. I could do a dozen in a week and make lots of money. I think I need some more DaQuil. Have a good weekend.____Dave

The down side of living that long is you have time to mull over your mortality. I guess it's better than a sharp stick in the eye.

Currently 24º headed for sunshine and 55º. I guess that's not too bad for this time of year. Y'all behave yourselves now ya hear.

Edit: I see Ray & Dave slipped in while I was huntin' & peckin'. Mornin' gents. Sorry to hear you're poorly this morning, Dave. Just lay around and wait for it to go away seems to be the best medicine.

Thanks for your comment Cudgee. I'm doing okay. You too I hope.

47 going to 55. Supposed to be cloudy this morning and sunny this afternoon.

A surprising headline to me. The sheriff of Memphis says that crime is so out of hand that even the Army would be unable to contain it.
I'm beginning to wonder if there is any major city that remains civilized. Maybe in Canada?

Had a single Turkey Vulture spend a lot of time on the property yesterday. He left chunks of whatever he found on the propane tank and the barn roof.

Bev is off to Louisville to participate in some sort of affair for prison chaplains.

Good Mornin', Folks.
Dave, one of our friends used to say when he got a cold, he would drink the whole bottle of Nyquil and go to bed and if he woke up, he would be over the cold. ::hmm:: Never went that extreme but seems like rest is a great help when we encounter a common cold.
We are enjoying a beautiful fall morning, 60 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. The coffee maker has about finished its' job so the day has almost officially begun.
Piddled with my old .243 yesterday and am satisfied that it'll do the job again if called on this season. The season is crazy, open for 4 days, closes a week, then M/L season for a week, then back to "real" rifle season till late in February when it finally closes and then another week of muzzle loader. Get tired thinking about it, but I do love it, just not as much as I did years ago. ::hmm::
We'll watch FSU football sometime to day.
Y'all enjoythe day!

Mornin' Y'all

Was going to a small local car show this am but looks like not. Wife has a baby shower at noon.
Little girl was born 3 months early, but seems to be doing well. She's up to 3 lbs now.
Maybe I'll get out and blow some leaves . . .

Morning folks, 45 could make it to 58, looks like we may have picked a tenth or two of rain at least it'll keep the fire hazard down some.
Critters are fed and the dishes warshed and put away.

You ask my friend if there is any city where crime is not out of hand, well over here there isn't. Crime is just completely out of control. Just yesterday we had a 12 year old girl granted bail on a Murder charge. A 12 year old girl charged with murder. :x :x :x

Good morning. I am almost starting to feel human again. This head cold was a nasty one with zero appetite, sapped strength, and body aches everywhere. One more day of sitting around should get me back to normal, which isn't all that much to brag about at my age, but a long shot better than I was yesterday at this time. No church for me this morning so I'll probably tune in to our service on UTube. Hope you all have a good Sunday.____Dave

Good Sunday Mornin' to Y'all.
Dave, glad to read that you are feeling better! ::tu::
45 and clear, we got to 80 yesterday. Rain predicted for Tuesday and Wednesday. ::shrug:: Looking forward to Thanksgiving Day and time with some of the family.
Church in a few hours, pastor and family are out of town so the young youth pastor will be preaching today.
Watched FSU football last night, another win but without the hot shot quarterback. He had a serious leg injury early in the game and was taken to the hospital. ::pray::
Miss Joy started baking yesterday and the Pumpkin Bread was terrific! ::nod:: Trouble is she already carted some of it off to the neighbors.
Y'all enjoy the day and remember there's always room at the church house for you.

Good Morning to all. Currently 31 going to 59. A touch of frost on the ground. It is sunny.

A few Blue Jays briefly visited the feeder yesterday but little bird activity in general.

Should fill up the car while gas prices are still relatively low.

Read that our local schools are above average.

May our Sunday be blessed.

Got home from Branson last night, had a great time with my son and his lady. And got a lot of my Christmas shopping done. The shopping options are endless there, big outlet mall and lots small specialty shops. Did go to Shepherd of the Hills knife shop but I didn’t find any new automatics that called to me. Did pickup a few misc kitchen items.
Never sleep well after the long drive home so nap will probably happen. But first need to get laundry going and finish unpacking.

Couldn't sleep so I've staggered over to the diner. I'll just make a little instant for myself because I don't want the brewed coffee to be stale when the rest of you get here. I'll start brewing later.

Now 44 degrees going to 64. Maybe some rain later.

Glad to see a couple of House Finches turn up at the feeder. Didn't have them last year. Missed their red color. Speaking of red, a Red-Bellied Woodpecker briefly visited. Also a male and female Cardinal were present, plus the usual Jays and Sparrows.

Rosalyn Carter died at 96 after a bout with dementia. RIP. Another news item I found interesting is that a tragedy was avoided.
The depth gauge on a British nuclear sub stopped working. The crew thought they were level at the indicated depth when in fact they were descending and came very close to crush depth. Fortunately, an engineer spotted the problem and sounded the alarm.

It seems like ages since I bought a knife.

Good morning. How come "good morning" is considered a full sentence? My brain just asked me that and I didn't know. The cold virus is still letting go of my head slowly. I tried some of my wife's Mucinex yesterday and my eyes were running like I was watching Old Yeller. I'll probably lay low one more day. I have a Dr. appt tomorrow with my urologist so I can stay on the meds that have been working well for me for years now, so hopefully she doesn't see anything I've missed. I hate surprised and changes. I should get a couple knives in today's mail. That should cheer me up considerably even if the sniffling hangs on. I slept like a baby last night without NyQuil or anything, so life is good. Hope you all have a great week and count down for Thanksgiving._____Dave

Good Mornin, Folks.
Dave , "Good Morning" is a full, exuberant statement takes more effort than the sometimes a grumpy, "Mornin'', that come from folks who aren't quite awake and don't feel like the actual morning deserves much of a comment. How's that for redneck philosophy? ::hmm::

45 and clear this beautiful fall morning, saw some interesting contrails in the eastern sky when I 1st got up. Always wonder where those planes are from and where they are going. That gets another " ::hmm:: ".
Coffee is ready, y'all have a good day!
