Smiling-Knife,

I like those little Peres knives. Mine is a "Greetings from Washington". I also thought I would add "The Burbank", which is a Wostenholm.
Thanks. Great knives knifegirl. Just a little info on Luther Burbank. He was a famous American horticulturalist who lived 1849-1926. He was best known for developing new hybrid plants, especially fruits and flowers. I think your knife is from the 1950s-60s. Here it is in a catalogue. I hope this is of interest.

While not as big as the "Mercator, Black Cat" this Mercator is a heck of a simple but very strongly made knife. It also takes and keeps a very good edge. I dig it out and carry it every once in awhile. ::nod:: Dale

It is! Locks up tight both ways and even has a half stop. Kind of reminds of this Leek I been using in a way.
I meant to look up the time frame also, but had it on my machine and I am in one of those ADD moods. Just all over the place.......

About bedtime.......big day tomorrow. Have a good one.

9ball :)
