That is one of the coolest knife displays I have ever seen. Very classy and that has to be very, very rare. Your post illustrates one of the things we wanted here for this new forum; to show off classic old knives that we may never see anywhere else. And we all thank you. Mind if I keep a copy of this pic for my personal files?

LT, thanks for the fascinating background information. I do hope you find one of these machines for yourself. My money is on you doing so.

Sounds like you may have the correct one, well done. I believe it should fit . LT I hope they didn't break the etched panel it can be redone but it is a bit of a problem mine has a mirrored back and a top so who knows. Anyone who did has been gone for years I even asked Dave Swinden and he didn't know. That means no one does for sure.

This is the sort of things that this forum is doing that no other forum I have been to before has done. This forum is bringing together the people who:
1- Know about this old stuff
2- Have the old stuff
3- Care about the old stuff
4- Are willing to share the old stuff with those of us who are knife & history nuts.

I think the info we get here in this forum is priceless.
Thank you to all who have this old stuff & are willing to share it with those of us who short out our keyboards by drooling on them while staring semi-transfixed at the monitor.

Guys what dale said hits the nail on the head ! I really appreciiate the history of it and you guys posting your knowledge of it all. I recently attended
the spirit of steel knife show in Grapevine Texas
where someone had on display one these displays.
I must of spent 45 min just looking at this display
, like a kid in a candy store! Sometime back I had
a conversation with the foremost authority, in my opinion, on Schrade knives and the history of this display. I will not name names but he knows who he is and I thank him. I will quit rambling now.

I have been jumping around a bit and have not put a lot on this thread so since the timeline thing seems to be gone. I thought I would just start putting on various displays ect and explaining a bit when I get some more out of the way and get back to the rarer knives I will try to take a pic of a display and then do the individual knives. In any event here are some OT and UH displays from the 70 tys an IXL from the late 70 tys and early eightys ( Schrade owned IXL for a few years late 70 tys and early 80tys ). It did not work out some of the reasons were actually pretty funny perhapes I can relate some of these stories in the future if anyone wants to hear about them. The sheath knives 49ers were 70 tys and were the last issue that Schrade made leather wrapped knives. I took pics of the factory brochures where I had them out to go with the displays but did not dig out any I may have missed, I have most of them . The outback display is late 90tys early 2000s. There is a display of PH-2 knives ( with finger prints sorry ) it is confusing since the quarter in the pic is really a 3 or 3.5 inch medallion. It is a Schrade furniture quality case but the quarter insert is not from Schrade. This was not a factory sold set but the knives are Schrade as is the display case. There is also a D Holder ram with a bladeblank fac brochure ect. Any questions let me know there is a large quantity of stuff and I think the way to view it is in a random and loose kind of getting to familiarize ones understanding of the display and items from the various eras. As this goes on if I duplicate something just let me know if it bugs you. I hope you enjoy the pics. LT PS Yes Dale you are correct I am nurturing the disease in Randy and soon he will have full blown SchrAIDS. Wait until he starts seeing some of the less mundane Schrade cuts and Schrade Waldens. Thats when the lust to covet no matter the cost, shoes for the kids a new car or all those pretty Schrades no contest who needs shoes. YOU POOR SOUL ( evil laugh ) HAA HAA HAA . Another one I have captured in the name of George Schrade, Henry Baer, and all of the others who created this history HAA HAA HAA. DOOMED DOOMED to walls filled with pictures displays and altogether to damn many knives it obviously is not normal but it is the way of the Schradeaphile. How much is to much well it is like jello there is always room for more and you can never have enough knives. After writing this I am starting to believe that perhapes I should cut down on the Blackbery Brandy when writing this stuff. Oh well I hope you enjoy the pics and there are worse hobbys and addictions. While I do not believe collecting these should be started as an investment I must say that if you live long enough it turns out that way.

The one on the left ia marked ESKILSTUNA which is probably why the seller thought it was a fish knife it is obviously a euro from a rather well known company. The other is a SANNAJUST???? Got it in Canada Any way a style I somehow like I do not know many patterns I do not have some of. I once bought one from right after the civil war made special for a veteran Officer. Actually it seems one armers are popular collectables and I did very well with that one on a swap for a high end automatic I wanted. These just sort of accumulated I have a lot of that. I am always interested if anyone has any info. of course the press button version is on the front of my book. I keep these around in case I ever get a chance to catch a cannon ball bare handed I do not know why I want to do that I guess I always liked the nickname lefty. If I ever do get one I will need the knife . I have a dandy 6 lb brass cannon ball right behind me but I picked it up from the ground so it does not count. LT PS if anyone wants to see my one big brass ball I can post a pic.

I was just curious, becuase my dad sold one identical to the black handled one on the left on ebay a while back, thought you may have slipped up and bought it without me even knowing, it was marked VALCO though. Neat knives they are.

Here's a closer pic of a Valco OAM knife for perusal! I inherited this one from my father-in-law who caught a German cannon "ball" during the last desperate days of WWII!
You probably don't want to try it LT!! As he would say, "I've only got a right arm, but I've got a mean left hook!!" I loved that guy, and feel lucky to be married to his daughter!

The knife is nice, the story better. Chances are i would have enjoyed knowing him. Sounds like he had learned a valuable lesson in life to keep his sense of humor. LT

He had a dry wit despite knowing how to soak it in good booze! Met his wife while she was nursing him back to an upright positon, and they died within a year of each other a few years back. A class act they were! Like their daughter! Unlike myself!!

Flip the clam packs over and look for a date at the bottom of the insert.
The CP in SP3CPSS on package stands for "Clam Pack" .
