Are There Any BASEBALL Fans On The Forum?

If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

Gee, thanks Lyle. I think.

Don't be whining. If they don't fade in the stretch, Reds are in it pretty solid for a wild card slot. As a Cub's fan, I know all about that. Fading in the stretch that is. Not so much about being in it for a wild card slot. ::facepalm:: Hey! Only 2.5 games behind St. Louis and Pittsburgh for the division title. Wouldn't that be something if they all three tied for the division championship?

Waz -- Your Rays could win the division. What's not to like about that?

Hey Cutty. Your Braves have met the Tasmanian Devils of the National League. How they doin' against those Card's? Oh, did you say they could get swept in a four game series if they lose today? Tsk Tsk Tsk. (I'm sorry. I don't know what made me say that. ::facepalm:: )

Well Jerry think of it more as giving to a worthy cause. They are just taking a injury time out.

They sure wiped their butts with the Cubs this last week. That 11-1 loss on Monday must have ticked them off because the next three games left no joy at Wrigley.

Twelve games behind Hotlanta and 8.5 games back in a wild card race that's dominated by an on fire Pittsburgh, a very stubborn Cincinnati and a dominate St. Louis. I'd like to give you some hope but I don't think there's any to be had.

Well if the Yankees can't take the AL East, I hope the Rays do.
Would kill me to see Boston win it.

I think y'all need to wish in one hand and spit in the other one on that one. The boys by the bay will pick up a wild card slot but they're not going to win the division.

Jeez Louise, Blue.
  • The Braves are up on Washington by nine games.
  • There are only nine games to go in the season.
  • The Braves have two more games with the Cubs.
  • They have a soft schedule, finishing out the last seven games of the season against Milwaukee & Philadelphia.
Just what exactly is the basis of your concern?

I'd like to ammend my assurances that Tampa will pick up a wild card slot. That's not for sure.

Cleveland has a soft finish to their schedule with games against Houston, the Sox and the Twins and right now they're only one game back in the wild card standings.

The Rangers have a schedule that could go either way with a finish against the Royals, Sox and the Angles

Tampa finishes the season in their own division no less. Baltimore, two games back in the wild card standings. Yankees 3.5 games back. Both tough teams and then Toronto who despite a .461 record isn't a push over. If Tampa gets a wild card slot, they'll sure earn it.

They need to get 'em when they can Ferg, cause after this next series with the Mets, they finish out the season against the Pirates. At least it's at home.

This one could come down to the wire. Lots of baseball left for a tight race like this. Anything could happen between now and the 30th. I don't see it happening but mathmatically it's possible to end the season with a three way tie for the Central Division title. Wouldn't that be something?
