Here's one I've had for a while but I don't believe I posted it here. It's got very dense jet black ebony handles with Alabama Damascus blade. Has a half stop and snaps like the proverbial bear trap.

Excellent looking knife. John's knives are built like tanks and snap like gators. No soft springs for him.

That is the densest ebony i have ever seen. John bought a 'load' of old ebony many years ago. It was harvested maybe over 100 years ago from original growth forest ebony trees.
Combined with the Damascus makes for a very elegant knife.

My most carried and used knife is my 3 3/4" micarta sowbelly. It's my favorite pattern. This particular knife has been bought and sold so many times it turns out I'm about the 10th owner. What? I don't know why but it's home now.

Good looking knife. Not fancy so maybe collectors loose interest and pass it along ? Perfect user especially with Micarta handles.
John Lloyd makes knives that he wants the owner to use.

I don't know if this is from that batch of ebony as it's a very recent knife. It's a John Lloyd ebony gunstock from a Rick Menefee pattern.

I'm sure the ebony on the gunstock is the same old growth ebony. I was told that Mr. Lloyd has some of the best stag as well as this 'best ever' ebony and at times he supplies some to other knife makers. i.e. he has plenty of both. The story is he came across a very large supply of knife handle 'material' (included ivory as well) 40 or more years ago and he bought all of it. This 'stock' was already very old at that time.
Would be interesting to hear the actual story from Mr. Lloyd himself.
When you see a USA made custom knife with extremely fine stag there is a reasonable chance the stag came from John Lloyd.

I've had several conversations with John and you are correct about his mountain of stag. Not only is it plentiful but it is stunning. He did in fact donate all the stag for the 2014 annual BladeForums knife. I'll post some of his stag knives in time. This was my GEC 77 that he supplied. It almost looked like elk.

Joe, thanks for posting your knives and the info about John Lloyd. I am looking forward to seeing your knives with stag and reading more of your informative posts.

It's taken a while to realize that the sowbelly has become my favorite pattern. But for pure beauty John's rendition of this Jess Horn pattern that he got from Tony Bose is #1.

I think it is called the "City Knife". There is also the "Stiff Horn" which is similar size.

Sunday drool started. Nice picture with perfectly, color coordinated shells!

A very beautiful knife set off in a beautiful photograph. Thinking your arrangement defines the words "good taste."
