I have no idea why it is called "New Orleans" and what the figures at the bolster mean?

I love that Parker set, It would cost a pretty penny to get them all.
I had a paper with info on each knife in that set, can't find it right now I'll look some more.

I have to admit... I picked this one up more due to it being produced by Schrade than it being a Parker.
...but I really do like the green bone and the blade etch. Its a series I'm interested in getting more of... especially since Schrade made some of the earlier ones... but not sure how many?

Texas Tooth Pick. 8 mile long garage sale find. $10 He had some nice knives. The bolster were very stained, used Mothers Mag then Never Dull.

Back in the day (early 1980s) I used to sell a ton of Parker knives at gunshows. Parker and Old Cutler (a Colonial brand) were my two biggest sellers. Nowadays I only have a couple of Parkers left, a boot knife and the Whittlin' Jack shown below. I always liked the assortment of colors they had on their bone handled knives.

I know it's a old thread ... Sorry. But I am thinking about selling this one because we are down sizing for a move. I haven't seen one before ..but that's the problem I can't find any even close to it ANYwhere to figure out if I should let it go or keep it for my kids . What do you think...yes or no?
Admittedly I tend to buy what I like and not worry about values or research and that has always worked for me. Until now .

I forgot I had these two; but, now that you've shown yours I'm going to have to MSMD (Monkey See, Monkey Do) and show mine.

My red bone is a two-blade trapper called "Mink" and my green bone "Little Bandit" has a single-blade and a liner lock.

Thanks, liked the liner locks but lost a few over the years in the woods and mountains. Too big a hurry with dark comin on and snow flying.

K7K, as always...you have a dazzling assortment of knives. Why is the blade on the 16 wheeler made that way and what is the second blade, on the back of the swing guard knife?

Thanks for the kind words. I have theorized that the hook on the blade was to dislodge stones that might get caught in the tire tread of a truck but cannot be sure.
As for the other knife;the,"blade" you are referring to is actually a guard for when the blade is closed.It is the same as the old Marble's Safety Knife.

Ahh...if I'd looked close enough...I would've seen the blade was longer than the "traditional looking" part of the handle. Very cool

I've owned many Parkers, a few Parker-Edwards and a couple of Parker-Frost (by Schrade), but this is my first Parker IMAI.

Say what you will about Jim Parker, he had a flair for creating some unusual and distinctive knives.

Like this muskrat. I can't say as I have ever seen this pattern with a serrated clip blade before.

Quite unique, I think.
