Today this pocket knife joined my MIL-K pocket knife collection. It is a STEVENSON 45 (stamped on the bail), single blade, 3 tool pocket knife. A nice companion for my CAMILLUS 1949, 1958, two 1959's and 1960 MIL-K's that I posted previously under this topic. It is in VERY GOOD condition and required minimal cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

Nice.....
Thank you JP.

I think I'd be safe in saying that yes, I do believe that the
STEVENSON 45 was one of the first MIL-K style pocket knives
to be manufactured. You see more CAMILLUS, IMPERIAL and
KINGSTON (I think QUEEN made them too) MIL-K pocket knives
than you see of these. Of course.....i could be slightly mistaken.
Here is GOOD info on STEVENSON 45 & other MIL-K pocket knives.

Yesterday, this pocket knife became a part of my MIL-K pocket knife collection. It's my third STEVENSON 45 (stamped on the bail), single blade, 3 tool pocket knife. A companion for my other two STEVENSON 45's, my CAMILLUS 1949, my CAMILLUS 1958, my two CAMILLUS 1959's and my CAMILLUS 1960 MIL-K's that I posted here, previously, under this topic. It needed cleaning. I did what I could with it, I took some pictures and here it is.

Call me crazy. But I find the best thing to do with a knife like that is give it some pocket time use it a little.
Even if you donβt use it, something about bouncing around in a pocket seems to even out the corrosion into a nice patina and brings out the beauty.
Nice solid knife. Great collection youβve accumulated.

Another nice one, Skip. Any significance to the years that you collect? I looked at your previous posts and didn't see anything, maybe I missed it?

Thank you John.

I didn't go after ANY of these for any particular reason.
I initially just wanted the 1949 because it's a VERY rare
MIL-K. After I obtained the "49", I decided to go after
the next rarest year(s) and get as many as I can. That's
where I am at the present time. NONE of the dates that
I have mean anything special to me.

Gotcha, Skip, just a rare collector's interest, nothing wrong with that.

What is "odd" about this pocket knife,
is that the awl has a nail nick, on the inside.
Using up the blade inventory?
