How much is gas where you live?

If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

Olde Cutler, I agree. And car batteries are also outrageous. I get my tires online and it’s CHEAPER than a tire shop. Go online to Tire Rack. They will have dozens of choices in each size. I have them ship to my mechanic for mounting and balancing. Ironically, one of the cheapest brands is also about the best tires I ever had. It’s called Hankook from South Korea. Best wear rated smooth riding and quiet. They were about $100 each, free shipping and my mechanic charged me $40 to mount and balance them. You can search by size or brands. Hope this helps.

Of course it is less and it will keep dropping until after November elections and then….. guess what the price will be ?? Happens for every election.

Thanks for the info. I have been in to a couple of local shops and my next step was going to be Tirerack.

Prices haven't budged in 3 weeks here. This is the cheapest place, usually a line into the street.

Coming down slightly here, but you won't see $2 again as long as this guy is behind the wheel.

I have to use “93” or at least that is what the car is rated for and I do use it. It was over $5 per gallon in June/July but down to $4.29 today!

Looks like the Inflation Reduction Act is really working ::tu::

I'm stuck buying Premium too. I remember 2 1/2 years ago it was just over $2, now that's real inflation reduction. ::nod::

Do you think using “93” is really important? I used it in the past with a car which had an LS2 engine (2005 GTO) but not all the time and had no problems.

Friends had a BMW rated for “93” and never used it. They had all kinds of issues which the dealer told them was from using “87”

That scared me into using only premium with my current car (it’s GM not Foreign btw )

Yeah, my 1.8L high compression Yamaha engine says Premium Gas Only on the gas cap. Wouldn't want to risk using anything else for fear of messing up the engine. It's a 2004 Toyota Matrix XRS with a 6 speed manual. Lots of fun to drive. ::tu::

If I remember correctly that was an engine that Lotus used - must be a blast.

One station is cheaper than the others by about 40 cents per gallon but it’s not close to my house. I fill up there when I’m in the neighborhood. Too far to go just for the gas.

There's a lot of hype going on about the price of regular unleaded gas going down. It's been around $3.15 or thereabouts here. However as you'll note from the picture above in OSCAR'S post, the price of diesel remains close to $5 a gallon. It hasn’t gone down to any significant extent if at all, and that's a MAJOR impact on the price of anything transported by truck, anything produced on a farm - in other words everything we buy, everything we eat.

The price of a gallon of regular unleaded gas is STILL 170+% higher than it was in 4Q 2020. People have short memories - politicians count on that. They want us to believe that because the price of a gallon of gas has dropped recently everything is wonderful again. They’re hoping folks won’t remember it’s still significantly higher than when they took office and began executing their war on fossil fuels in words and
deeds (“we are going to put them out of business”).

The price of everything I buy, from groceries to diesel to fertilizer and animal feed, to clothes, electricity, and on and on, is significantly higher than it was 2 years ago. Pay attention people!
