DAMN!
All it took was a simple question about the reliability of an online knife retailer to have almost the entire thread devolve into an inflammatory political diatribe. I came here to discuss knives and possibly escape the confrontational nature of the current political scene. I only wish, even though it is a few years too late, I could answer to OP question.

But I learned a valuable lesson, if I have questions about the reliability of an online knife store, I will not ask for advice on AAPK.

It seems the original question sparked the contentious, to some not to others, political diatribe. I try to stay out of politics in online forums because it usually just causes arguments. There are enough discussions (arguments?) here about the quality, price and country of origin of knives without further complicating the situation with politics. I really don't understand the knife collecting-politics connection.

Was it contentious? Spirited, yes. But no one was being rude to other members, unless I missed it. And that, Bill, is one of the things that makes this forum a bit unusual.

I’ve re-read every post in this topic and IMHO not a single one is a political diatribe ….. I’m wrong on something every day of my life and this could be one of those instances.

We have a topic for political discussions that you must request access to which keeps those who wish to remain out of those discussions excluded. This topic is no where near the political commentary in those topics, it’s simply pointing out sales channels where fake/counterfeit knives are being sold.

I guess I must've mis-read the everything USA great/everything China junk comment and the comment about "xenophobic old curmudgeon" as being politically charged. I was surprised at how "spirited" the "discussion" became. It seemed, to me, unusually impolite for AAPK, but as Dennis Miller used to say, "Of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong." Mea culpa! I guess I'm just being overly sensitive today.

totally understandable Bill - I too have days like that when everything rubs me the wrong way - your counterpoint is always appreciated. ::handshake::
