Dad also used a range of white materials for his knives...

Dad also did a lot of knives with handles wrapped in leather or paracord...

I like the simple touch of scroll work that Dad etched on the bolster...

Using the same sort of handle material as the knife I posted previously, made around the same time period, but very different in style...

This knife, of course, has already been sold, but I recently filled out the form about a week ago requesting to sell Dad's knives (maybe other stuff) through AAPK. I hope I get to! Don't worry, I'll still be posting pics of his fixed blades -- and pocket knives when they have found new homes.

Awesome! Yes! The Biglers in southern Illinois are all linked to Biglers who originally settled in Cobden. They have all dispersed a bit, but there are still a lot of us here in the southernmost tip of the state.

Hahah!I do live in Anna... just not at 1000 North Main. :-) Dad's folks lived in Cobden and moved to Anna when Dad was 11. They lived right next door to another iconic place in town, Stinson Library. Here's a picture of Dad with his dad, Arthur Bigler, on the front porch of that house. The boxer, Dempsey (named, of course, after Jack), is his dad's dog.
