Morning folks, 30 the low around 60 for the high, if the crazy March wind would lay wouldn't be half bad.
Had a wonderful meal at filippo's Italian restaurant in Monticello last evening, if anyone is it this area and has a hankering for Italian grub this place is hard to beat. Great food at reasonable prices. ::tu:: x10 in ole Homer's humble opinion.
Meeting kinfolk for supper at the Texas Road House, one of the better chain steakhouse restaurants l reckon.
YMMV.
That's about all I'm getting into.
Hope yawl have a good'un and be careful out there. ::handshake::

Mornin' Y'all

Cool 36 now, mid 70's later today, plenty of sun.
Wife has an 9am appointment to get her tires rebalanced. After a two week saga to get the tires and put on,
the car is bouncing and pulling to one side. I'm supposed to do a front brake job on it today, too ...

Enough whining. Pot is ready. Yawl have a great Saturday !

Morning! Up early for me, afraid if I went back to sleep I’d oversleep and have hurry to get ready for work. 20, clear and windy, typical March. After the dentist on Thursday I called for an eye doctor appointment with a new one, had a cancellation for yesterday so got right in. Young fellow very thorough and patient, new glasses ordered. Big hit to the checking account.
Coffee is good, time for more.
Have great weekend and stay safe in the crazy mess our country currently is.

Good morning. Nothing planned for the day. We are expecting 3 to 6 inches of snow tonight and tomorrow. Almost all of our snow is melted away, but some nasty slippery ice sheets are around my barn that make working anywhere around there difficult. I did get a beam and a few rafters up on the lean-to I'm adding my tractor shed yesterday. If the weather cooperates, I might poke away at that again today. The next gun/knife show is a couple weeks away so nothing fun is on the schedule. Have a good weekend.____Dave

Good Mornin', Folks.
36° and clear, heading to the mid 70s.
Coffee's making, 50 lbs of sausage meat will get my attention this morning. Yesterday, I
sharpened my grinder blades and trued up the 2 plates we'll be using grinding with this morning
Not planning to make any linked smoked sausage this time. Should have around 25, 2 pound vacuum sealed packages in the freezer sometime this afternoon.
We've been draggin' around about putting out the hummingbird feeder and we saw one while we were eating breakfast yesterday morning. Made up a batch of 4:1 water and sugar, put it in the feeder and hung it on a shepherd's hook by the front porch. Within 15 minutes, a hummingbird was on it! Watching them as I hunt and peck on my tablet this morning. ::tu::
Y'all have a great day, looks like we'll be busy for a while.

Mornin' Y'all

Good to see several regulars stop by FCD and all are in fair spirits .. .. .. :)

Yesterday was a mixture of "oh, Crap!" and "Sweet!" moments. ::doh::
Wife took her car for the tires to be rebalanced, and that solved the issue and didn't take very long.
While she was gone I dug into why our brand new oven quit working. Seems the 60+ year-old wiring
has lost a leg. I will have to run a new conductor from the breaker to a new receptacle. 6/2 is not cheap!
The good news is that we did not burn up the new oven (whew!)
Started on the brake job only to figure we had the wrong parts, so that job is on hold.
BUT then the grandsons came over for a visit! The elder is learning to count and was obsessed with the
stacking toy Granny gave him. The younger is walking pretty good now.

Tonight the wife has tickets for us to see ZZTop in concert. Only one original member is still touring, Billy Gibbons,
Frank Beard having dropped out for medical issues this past week .... RIP Dusty Hill.

Ok, so enough rambling. Pot is ready Yawl

Good morning Diners. Chris, pray your day goes better. It's snowing lightly out here right now but we're not expecting too much of a mess. I'm hoping the roads won't be slippery as I likely will need to go get the great grand kids for Sunday School about a half hour away and tote them back to their house after. I sure wish church was in their parents life. Nothing else planned for the day. WE are supposed to start a painting job in the city Monday and it's supposed to snow until Monday AM some time, so we'll see how that plays out. Have a great Sunday.____Dave

Good Sunday Mornin' to y'all!
46° this morning before daylight. Opening the back door, the birds are all singing already.
Got the coffee making and TV on watching the news.
Church in a few hours. Going to have some deer burgers for dinner today. Got the venison and pork ground yesterday but failed to package it. For some reason I decided to do 50 pounds like we used to do years ago and found out again why 25 pounds all that an old man needs to tackle with the the equipment we have. Seems like a vacuum sealing afternoon is about to happen.
Coffee is being poured!
Y'all have a blessed day, try to make it to church today, there's always room!

Good morning knifers.
Chris, enjoy the ZZ Top concert! Spent a lot of time listening to there music. Great tunes.
Another day with nothing on the calendar and it’s rather enjoyable. After church might head out looking for antler sheds. You would think they are easy to find but you really have to scan the area slowly. Usually by fence lines and heavy underbrush. If not that maybe oil up the last of the keeper knives. Or maybe a good book or?
You all enjoy this day, whatever you decide to do!

Good morning. It's cold, windy and damp out there. I sure could use a little Spring weather. The roads are glazed over with a layer of ice, but it's chunky like frozen sleet and not as slippery as smooth glossy ice from freezing rain, the kind you can't stand up on. It's still not nice and I don't particularly feel like heading out to work. This is one of the few days I'd really rather be retired but that will likely go away once I get moving, or not. We have our church small group meeting tonight and that's always fun. Have a good week and stay safe._____Dave

Good Mornin', Fellers!
Woke up to thunder in the distance around 6am. Realized he tractor was still in the yard, we had to hurry up and put it under the barn. 59°, thunder is getting louder, should be raining in minutes. When I first stepped out I could hear an owl hooting and the thunder, that was neat! Azaleas are in full bloom, a really hard rain will probably end that. :(
Yesterday was good, after church, dinner and a good nap, we finished up the sausage making by vacuum sealing in 2 pound +/_ bags. There is still enough meat for several more batches when Boston Butts go on sale.
A rainy morning will be a perfect time to root up some POS knives. :)
Coffee is extra good as the rain just started.
Y'all have a good Monday!

Good morning. The day yesterday turned out to be pretty nice as the day went on, and today looks to be a little nicer. Rain, freezing rain and a weather mess looks to be coming in next weekend so I'm probably glad I won't be traveling. I did want to go to a show closer to home but probably will skip that one too. The painting job yesterday went well but we have a long way to go to the finish.Last night at the church small group meeting we talked about a new book out about the star of Bethlehem and how it actually happened and it's significance written by an astrologer who traced what was happening on a specific date back in 8BC and which planets were involved. It was absolutely amazing what they found and we discovered about the Maggi who knew what the bright star meant. The whole thing was about on par with what the excitement would be if we actually found Noah's arc, but then who needs proof of God's existence above what He shows us in nature. People by nature often don't believe what is right in front of their noses. Politics shows us that every day. I'm off to work. Have a great Tuesday.____Dave

Good Mornin', where are the coffee drinkers this morning?
Dave has checked in and gone to work, I just got back from the men's prayer meeting.
Foggy this morning, 48°. Yesterday we had light showers off and on till around sundown.
HVAC service man coming this morning, no problem, just a check up and cleaning. Amazing how much dirt is washed out of the condenser coils twice a year!
Probably need to make a run to the Piggly Wiggly, cupboard is beginning to be like Mother Hubbard's.
Y'all have a good day. ::tu::

Good morning. The diner is getting lonely. If a couple more of you stop drinking coffee , or getting up in the morning I'm going to have to start collecting something else and open a diner there so I have someone to drink coffee with in the morning. I don't know if Bicycle collectors drink coffee or just them fancy energy drinks. I don't think I'm ready for that. In case anyone is out there, the weather has been really nice except a little chilly at night, but they are still talking freezing rain for the weekend but I doubt I'll be traveling to Janesville and the gun show I thought was this weekend isn't until next weekend so I guess I don't have anywhere to go except church Sunday morning. I'm off to the painting job again today and tomorrow and that's going good. Church tonight with a meal included. Have a good Wednesday._____Dave

Good Morning Everyone!
We're home from our trip to Missouri. Had a great time visiting with my son and his family and meeting my grandson's future bride!
Spent way more money than I should have at the antique malls but I'll just look at it as an investment. ::shrug::
I'll post pictures of my total knife purchases on the right thread in a minute. Have a blessed day and be safe.... :D

Good morning, Dave and David, and good morning to the rest of the patrons here at the Diner. Current temperature in my back yard is 68º and it is forecast to hit the mid-80s by the afternoon. There is hope for a much needed shower this evening and supposedly 100% chance of rain tomorrow. I'll believe it when it actually happens. Our weather prognosticators are much like the 'boy who cried wolf'.
Nothing much else to report on here. Healthwise, I had the green apple trots most of the day yesterday. That may be TMI.
Hope you all have a great day today.

Good Mornin', Folks.
Looks to be another fine day here in LA (aka Florida Panhandle)! 56° and clear blue skies, outside work will be the order of the day.
Need to make a trip to the post office and then stop by the auto parts for some new wiper blades on the old 4X4 Ford.
Lots of birds in the yard this morning along with the hummingbird.
Church this evening, should be a full day.
Y'all enjoy the day.
