All About Pocket Knives

Great knives! I like Queen and I like bone. Here is a strange one, some sort of natural abalone product that is embedded in clear acrylic in this pattern #73 knockoff of a Remington bullet trapper, by Great Eastern Cutlery. Half stops. 3.75 inches. My scanner doesn't do "shiny".

Isn't it called looking glass abalone?.........I think someone told me it was abalone with clear acrylic on bottom and top....or something like that.
Makes it more durable.

Yes, Johnnie, that is indeed what they call it. It's flashy and unusual but I still like Rodgers bone better!

Bill, LOL! I dont really even like yellow (remington) knives. I only own a few. I bought this as part of a double buy.

This 34 OT came from the same estate sale of which I had scored on a LB3 on Friday. I picked this one up on Saturday after he came down on his prices. The knife came with box and papers. It appeared to me that the previous owner had bought this , then I believe he put it in a dresser drawer in the man's cave and forgot about it. All three blades had a small amount of surface rust on them. Other wise it was as new in the box. Some Q-Tips, wedonol polish, and a little work cleaned them up. This is the best Schrade I own. Dale

I have one of those Camillus electricians knives and what a solid knife,maybe not rare but great tool... the spring is so strong and the nail pull so close to the center on the screw driver blade it's about all I can do to open it....almost a design flaw in my opinion?

superdave, are the handles on your Camillus made of some kind of wood? Wooden handles would be a nice little kicker for it, as apposed to delrin. I love a knife to have good strong blade spring, like you said yours does. The stronger they are, the better I like them. I carried a wooden handled Camillus TL-29 for a few years. Never had a complaint about the knife in anyway. Those are a handy knife for sure.

As an aside; Gino, does the Camillus made Remington yellow delrin handled RY4 U.S.A. lockback knife have 420HC stainless steel blades, or could it possibly be marked on it's box as to what type of blade steel the knife has? It kinda reminds me of the Camillus made Yellow Jaket series of knives that Camillus made for a short time. That LB-7 and the Remington lockback was a nice catch. Congrats. Would you take a feller with you to where ever you go shopping at and finding these knives? I know.......it's a secret and if you told me or took me with you, you'd have to kill me so it couldn't be told where your finding them.

Gino..A friend of mine had a Remington lockback like yours . It had center pin cracks on both sides....He rehandled her in some kind of bone and did some fantastic filework to it....It really turned out sweet.Next time that I go over to his house I'll have to get a pic of it for ya.

I got these in the mail from e-bay today. The large Trapper had not been sharpened. Tang stamp is Robeson Suredge USA. Jigged Plastic..Trapper I think? 1940 to 1964 Numbers on back of main blade are 622151

The white knife is Stamped.. Robeson. Back of main blade is stamped Germany with # 4833. I cannot find much on this in the Kalcevic book. What can you tell me ..Dates etc???
The e-bay seller was d.u.c.k.s. Seller name. Heor she just threw in the white Robeson for free. I will have to check this seller out again , and it goes in my favorites...

Gander Mountain has a clearance sale on their Case knives. I ended up with a copperhead 6.52109x, a small stockman 6.5327 and a tiny trapper 6.52164. All were $29.95. There were more, but I ran out of cash.

Well I sure wished I lived close to Gander Mountain!!
