Sounds like y'all had a good weekend. Mine...eh...not so much. Very happy to say my sore throat is gone, but I'm stuffed in the head like a Thanksgiving turkey and have a whopper of a headache due to the sinus pressure. Nothing to do but just ride it out.
Nothing scheduled for me today. Gonna sit back and nurse this cold.
Watched some old Dean Martin Roast clips last night that provided some laughs and entertainment.

Morning folks, almost noon low was 58 and it's supposed to top out in the upper 70's.
Old wampus is still awol.
I'm a little late to the table, I had early VA appointment with the dermatologist, took a couple of sample off my old bald head, spot has been sampled before but has grown in size so she said she'd feel better if we sampled it , I said me too, pathology in a couple of weeks.
Probably get some weed eating and roundupping done in a bit in preparation for grass cutting tomorrow or Wednesday.
Hay man is here cutting the hay field, always like the looks of it after it's cut.

Up a bit early, but I slept fair for a change. Should be raining out according to the radar, but I don't hear any.
Rain and some possible flooding is the story for this week. Luckily I have no pressing outdoor issues.
Today will be laundry, dish washing, and packing for the weekend ....
Gonna rain near 'bout the whole time we'll be in Ft. Walton, but beats being at work !

Cloudy and 73 to start the morning, had a little shower around noon yesterday, more this afternoon and likely most of the remaining week if we believe the forecasters.
Yesterday was normal, visited a friend in the local hospital, today I'm heading out to Panama City for a shoulder shot at 10:30. Going to men's prayer meeting over at the church at 6am.

Good morning. Near perfect day today as far as weather is concerned and two wet days after that. The kitchen project keeps getting bigger because the lady keeps finding stuff she wants done while we are there. That's pretty typical and not unexpected. The next scheduled job was supposed to be taking down a stairway and moving it to another location in the house, but we keep getting texts adding stuff. They aren't waiting until we get there. Jane and melody are getting a little impatient to see more getting done here at home too and we have several big jobs that we are supposed to be getting close to starting. Retirement is starting to sound better all the time. We had our church small group meeting last night and another meeting tonight to plan another Bible study and I have a deacon meeting Thursday evening, so my evenings are getting busy along with my work schedule. Life goes on. Have a good Tuesday and be safe._____Dave

Wampus came home, ate like he hadn't seen food for a couple of days.
Got a little roundup put down yestiddy more to do plus weedeating and mowing grass before the predicted rain gets here on Thursday.

The smell of freshly cut hay.......to me brings back memories of aching muscles and new blisters on the hands from picking up the bales in the field and throwing them on the wagon and then getting so hot you wanna puke when you gotta stack those bales in the barn on a summer day and eatin' that dust.

But dang those farmer's wives sure did feed the help good at the end of the day.

Mixed bag for weather today, 70’s, chance of rain and lots of wind. My turn for the shoulder shot today and a haircut. And add more items at my collectibles shop. Sales have been much better since the move to a new location.
1st cup is almost gone and need food.

Good morning. We are in for a cool wet day with temps in the 50's for a high. We have a load coming for another job that we need to meet and unload sometime today and we need some materials for the kitchen project so some of the day will be spent running around not getting stuff done. Good Mornin', FCD crew.
Been watching 3 deer for about 30 minutes. So common around us but I still enjoy watching, they almost look orange this dreary 74° morning. A few months ago they were gray brown. God's creatures are always amazing if we just take time to observe.
Trip to Panama City was smooth yesterday, rain started here after I got home. Even had a tornado warning, it was south of Starvation Plantation. Ended up with 1.3 inches in the gauge. More coming this afternoon according to the "guessers". Arthur is supposed to become the 1st tropical storm to be named this season, that may happen around noon according to NWS.
My Friday afternoon appointment has been changed to a morning appointment. Sure didn't want to play in the afternoon traffic.
Got to make a run to town sometime today, crazy Electrical Cooperative decided they will no longer accept payments over the phone with a credit card without a fee. USPS can't guarantee getting a piece of mail to the next town on time like they once did. A local bank will process your payment. Might even get my ears lowered if the barber is in this morning.

Morning folks, 62 the low gonna top out around 90 I reckon, humidity is creeping up some rough weather predicted for several areas around the country hope none of yawl are affected by it.
Wampus was awol this morning, I'm kinda worried about him.
Yestiddy morning the boss had a meeting with a friend, I we to the door to see her off and noticed the smell of skunk. She said whew it pretty strong out here. I came back inside got another cuppa joe and started checking the aapk site out, after awhile I went and got my weedeater out and went to work, dang the smell was rough, we had a nice brisk breeze out of the west coming across the road, I look out that way and a black headed buzzard was having a feast, I reckon a skunk got hit by a car and crawl up through the ditch and into the yard, I figured the buzzard would take care of it and went to work, weedeated put down several gallons of roundup, the old buzzard kept eating away he finally left and I got my shovel and took the little that was left to the back of the farm. The stink was kinda hard to endure but me and that ole buzzard got our jobs done.
The good thing about the hay cutting today it's pretty much big round bales. I never minded working in the hay in my youth because it keep me out of the tobacco patch.

Had a nasty little 10 minute storm blow through yesterday, BigHomer will say I'm hogging the rain again. We had some limbs down, neighbors have trees down, lost power for a couple of hours, hail decimated my garden, and 6 tenths inch of rain in that short amount of time. It is clear and bright at the moment and I will be getting out the chainsaw in a few minutes.

Just make sure to wear those chain saw chaps. They've probably saved my father in laws life half a dozen times.
And make sure you're properly supervised.

One time on my delivery route I pulled into a driveway and saw 2 older gentleman staring at a couch, each holding a chainsaw. I hopped out and said "Fellas, this can't be good. Do your wives know where you are and what you're doing?"

My sister returned safely from her weeklong trip to Texas. Unfortunately, her car's air conditioner conked out. Getting a new compressor installed.

I woke up at 9:30; put on the coffee. I was shocked at how dark the sky was. Clearly, a very bad storm must be on the way, if not a tornado. Eventually I discovered it was 9:30 at Night, not A.M.

Yesterday's talk of hay'n and chainsawin' makes me cringe ... never had to do hay growing up, might would have been
a good thing if I had. I was a small child, 90lbs through high school. A few winters Dad and I cut firewood
for my grandparents ... he would run the chainsaw and I would load the truck. In his late 70's Paw Cobb
would split the logs himself. Last time I ran my saw, I threw the chain ...
Ahhh, reminiscing.

Looking for the tropical depression to hinder our travels south this afternoon. Told the wife we would
have to drive down in a mini-hurricane!

Good morning Chris and all you sleeping in. 50 degrees here with a slight chance of rain. I'm bring in my truck for front end work to the tune of $2000 on a truck worth about that. Yesterday we waited most of the day for flooring that was supposed to be delivered from Home Depot around 10;30. It finally arrived in pouring rain on an open bed truck wrapped about 2/3rds of the pallet in plastic. The bottom 16 boxes soaked. It was prefinished Hickory solid wood flooring that needs to be installed with about 10% max moisture content. It's pretty much unusable for us. Home Depot is sending out another 16 boxes at their expense. They were supposed to unload the flooring also, but one overweight guy came with the load, so that wasn't going to happen, and Jason and I ended up hauling in the top 2/3rds of the pile last evening after work. The rest of the flooring, we spaced out on the garage floor hoping we could use the stuff in the center of the boxes if we needed them. Not much went well yesterday. At our meeting on Tuesday night, we were interrupted by a phone call for one of the ladies present that her daughter, who was expecting, had her baby on the couch at home, and no, it wasn't a planned home delivery. Mom and baby were both doing well and Grandma Karen at our meeting made a quick exit to go help her daughter. I guess that way of giving birth beats a day or two in labor, but it sure is more scary. I'm hoping for a day today with no surprises and a lot done at the kitchen project. Have a wonderful Thursday.____Dave
