Great whittlers all!! Here is an old Winchester marked on all blades and a Ulster Pearl that is stamped Ulster Nkife Company. Yes, Nkife is how it reads on the knife. Love the mis stamp! Dont know if I posted these in this thread or not. :)

WW, that's basically just a "pick" that can be used for whatever you would use a pick for.

And in case you were wondering why it's called a "Lobster" knife, is if you pull the pick and the pen blade out a little farther, with the pivot pins for eyes, it looks a bit like a lobster with its claws out, like this.. Not my knife BTW.. A bit of unsolicited info for you! Ha!

If you're only going to have one, that's a great one to have, AKD!

Wish I knew who made it, but it does like very old for sure. What a beauty!

To most knife collectors, a whittler is a three blade knife with two backsprings, one thick main blade that rides on both backsprings. The bottom end has two blades, that ride on separate backsprings.

Yes sir. Oh, and generally the main blade is in between the two smaller blades. Usually the three blades are Main- Clip, wharncliff, or spear, a small coping, and a small clip' . Glad to be of help.. ::handshake::

Reviving an old, but great thread.

Got this circa 1910 to 1916 Terrier Cutlery, Rochester, NY whittler off Ebay last week.

Terrier was a subsidiary company of Robeson Cutlery Company.
