It’s great to see a well used and well cared for knife. I’m not a fan of the fake patina, nothing matches the look of real use and wear.

Very nice Glenn, I always liked the Frontiers and their shields.

I decided to wipe down a couple of old 4 line Camillus and give some pocket time today. A Camillus Jumbo, and a swell end trapper.

Thanks! Years of using it to cut anything and everything. This is a trusted old friend and gets used regularly. (Edited because I’m an idiot).

Bought these (actually 3 of them, but one has gotten lost somewhere along he way) back in '84 at a local hardware store just outside of Omaha, NE. They cost me $3 each, so I figured at that price I could drop one in each tool box and always have one handy. The brown one sat unused for nearly the entire time (It's now retired and tucked away safely). The red one ended up being the EDC for the majority of the time. I've got 15 or 20 knives that I've accumulated over the years, but Ole Red still gets the pick nearly every time.

Edited to add: So, I read somewhere these were possibly made by Schrade. Is there any way to tell for sure? Wouldn't surprise me. I've always had a soft spot for Schrade knives. I have a few that were my dad's. A Schrade-Walden 250T, 70s vintage 881, and a 863, and a couple of Old Timers from the early 80s. Interesting stuff.

There has been speculation about the Frontier lines origins, but I do believe it's been determined that those were constructed with Swinden style bolsters with swinden machinery in the Imperial factory. I've seen many with brown jigged delrin, and smooth black or white delrin. I've not seen any with the red. Nice knives ::tu::

Thanks, J.P., also a very faint "camillus" etch, not showing up in picture. Hope all is well with you, a break from the cold temps is near!
