Just got this from my co-workers at my retirement party. Such a unique Case Trapper! With my 10 months of sick leave, I have 25 years 5 months time in service!

I picked up this Cattleman's Cutlery Cowhand Medium Stockman at a local farm supply store a few months back on a whim.

The quality is really good for less than $20, and the blades are 8Cr13MOV/440C (better than the 7Cr/440A RRs use).

Also, the G-10 I liked. Case uses heavy jigging on much of theirs (great if you've got wet or greasy/oily hands from work, but uncomfortable in use), and RR polishes theirs to the point it's slick. This one is a plain matte finish that makes it grip without an aggressive texture.

The Case Tadpole was & still is my "Holy Grail" knife. I was finally abel to pick one up from a no longer active AAPK member from Nebraska in Oct. 24 I think it was. Anyways, it's in a well used condition and the snap on the main blade is weak but as the saying goes . . . , "beggers can't be choosers". At least the brown bone handles are still intact & have that genuine pocket worn feel to them so it's still a little gem in my collection.

When I get older I'll buy myself a really nice one.
