Thanks, Ike! I can’t say for sure but I think the lion is a mascot for some high school sports team. I was sitting in the parking lot of a dentist office in Marshall, Illinois when I took that picture.

Very nice, David. No, I am way off, that is an exceptionally nice, beautiful knife.

You weren't too far from me, could you smell that salmon that I put in my scrambled eggs this morning? My wife sure complains about the smell every time I fix salmon.1967redrider wrote: ↑Fri May 08, 2026 3:17 pm Greetings from somewhere, Illinois. Land of Lincoln and Ike.![]()
Not much to entice a traveler to make a stop when passing thru Illinois, huh? Pretty boring drive across the state.
There is a knife store in Troy, Illinois where you may wish to stop and stretch your legs on the way back, should be right on your route. GP knives is the name, people tell me it is a good place. I have never been there, they sell all that "new crap" that you like.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
Picked up two HOK's yesterday at a local flea market. They were so rusty that my friend just gave them to me.
I spent way too much time cleaning them up, but the prospect of saving them was just too strong.
I now have two good old EDC"s that are sharp as can be, and have a whole new life. I carried them
today for the first time in I don't know how many years.. Gotta' love the rebirth of an old knife..

Salmon and eggs sounds delicious, especially if it's smoked with capers.

Viper Moon again today. Coincidentally purchased in person last August at Grand Prairie Knives which John and Ike were discussing above.
